"Everything turned out fine and they did an excellent job.  I felt it was a fair price for what they did. They removed a TV antenna and repaired cracked caulking around my roof and near the chimney. They were here on time. There were two people here and it took about 2 hours to complete the work."

"We were very pleased with both the service and quality of the product. They did a very nice job of installing and the product is great. The people were really nice and very cooperative. Actually they came back today to work on we actually had a door put in as well and it needed little bit of adjustment so they came back and adjusted it for us. They stand behind their products very well. I would absolutely use them in the future."

"They were willing to work with me on the payments. I kept running into other things that took more priority than that, but I still want to get the awnings over the kitchen window and the back door. They are willing to work with me and good price and everything."

Awnings questions, answered by experts

The average cost to build a pergola ranges from $2,200 to $6,400, whereas the average cost of an awning ranges from $1,400 to $4,400, meaning that an awning tends to be less expensive to build or install than a pergola. Ultimately, the less expensive option depends on a few factors, including size, quality of materials used, and location.

Regular cleaning, inspecting for wear, and retracting during storms extend its lifespan.

Metal awnings last much longer than fabric thanks to their durability and resistance to fading, sun damage, and damage from the outside elements. They also need less maintenance than fabric options. Both items add curb appeal to your home, but you shouldn't expect either type of awning to add property value to your home.

Awnings offer a number of benefits, including:

  • Reduced summer home cooling costs with lower solar heat gains

  • Protection from sun, rain, and snow damage

  • Increased curb appeal for your home

Keep in mind that awnings also have drawbacks, including the potential to reduce your view, block natural light, and create new occasional home maintenance needs.

Yes, you can convert a fabric awning to a metal one. You just need to swap the fabric for metal panels, which are more durable and weather-resistant. However, the support frame will probably need reinforcement to handle the added weight. You should consult a pro to address any structural concerns.
