"I called Jeff to request a replacement of an existing leaking set of french doors.  Jeff had an estimator on site within a couple days and preliminarily found significant water damage & rot damage to the floor.  A plan of action was developed to replace the door with a patio door, replace the damaged subfloor & the framing if after the old door came out more damage was evident.    The doors were originally installed incorrectly which damaged both the door, floor, and framing so we requested a replacement with a sliding glass door.
Within a week, the project was completed in a timely, professional, and high quality manner.  The installers were respectful and cleaned up well after the job was done.  They also took the time to show me specific issues that created the leaks in the first place and explained the extent of the damage.  They replaced the water damaged framing and floor that were covered up by the existing set of doors and made sure that the new door installation was done correctly.  The end result is that we now have a beautiful door with the peace of mind that it was done correctly.
This is the 2nd job I have used Homecraft for and will continue to think of them first for my home improvement needs.

"The door took about 2 weeks to come in and was installed withing a couple of days. Scott did a great job with taking out the old door and replacing it with the new door. The area was left very clean. I highly recommend Roofing Pups."

Doors questions, answered by experts

Outswing doors are more popular for exterior doors as they offer more room for moving items in and out of a home. And because the hinges are on the outside of the door, they’re more secure against potential break-ins. But, outswing doors are more susceptible to the elements and are more expensive. Comparing inswing vs. outswing doors depends on your budget, needs, and overall preference.

Kick plates are usually installed on the “push” side of a door, but there are plenty of reasons to install them on both sides. Interior kick plates can offer protection from pet scratches, doors being kicked closed, and even kids’ toys during enthusiastic play sessions. Consider what kind of use and abuse your door gets to determine which side or sides to install a kick plate on.

Yes, prehung doors include a door jamb. Prehung doors are sold as a single piece with the door frame already constructed, including the hinges. The only part missing is the trim, which you add after fastening the door. They are more expensive than slab doors but are quicker and easier to install. Prehung doors come in an array of sizes, so there’s likely an option to fit any doorway you need.

French doors usually have two handles, with one for each door. However, some French doors only include a single door adjacent to a panel of glass that doesn’t open or close. In that case, you’d have a single handle on the door side and no handle on the stationary side.

There are a few reasons why barn doors are appealing to homebuyers: they’re unique and add a rustic charm to any home. While interior barn doors are a newer favorite of homeowners, when it comes to trendy renovations—like soaking tubs, farmhouse sinks, and barn doors—it’s best to wait to see if the trend withstands the test of time before making the investment.
