"Excellent service! Open communication about the progress of the repair and went above and beyond to ensure other aspects of the computer were up to date and running well. I can't recommend WGS enough!!"
"Jim responded promptly to my order placed on Angie's List for the Remote Computer Tune Up & Repair Deal. He cleaned up the computer remotely, which was running very slowly, and required frequent re-boots. Computer is running much faster now. Great service. Would highly recommend.
"It went great! I called and they were out the very next day measuring and installing new screens in my home. The customer service was outstanding and the installers were very friendly and polite. The prices were much lower than all of the other window companies in the area. I will definitely be using them again."
"We are extremely pleased with our experience with Wheaton Door & Window (WDW). We had interviewed a few door & window companies to replace our 1977-vintage windows and doors in a 2 level condo. While everyone could replace the windows, it proved difficult to find a provider for the French doors, which were of a size that nobody carries anymore. This regrettably put us in expensive custom-made land. Peter (the salesman) gave a great in-home demonstration of replacement windows and after a couple hours was able to find an option for the French doors and the screen doors (which surprisingly were even more difficult to find than the glass-paned doors!) This was in stark comparison to another contractor who had no solution for the French doors, and the price was substantially less than what a nationally-known window company quoted me for its windows and custom French doors. Peter was also cognizant of the condo community's architectural requirements and made sure the doors and windows would comply. After placing the order and putting 1/3 down, Joe came and measured. Before WDW placed the order with the custom supplier, Joe came back and measured a second time, which gave us great comfort that things would be done right the first time. After placing the order, our condo suffered a casualty that took several weeks to repair. When WDW received the doors and windows, they patiently held them until the restoration work was completed. Amber and Bobbie from the installation department checked in periodically while the work was being done to keep tabs on when the installation could begin. Once I gave the word, Chris and his crew installed the windows and the very tedious doors over a 1 and a half day period. They had great attention to detail, going so far as to repaint some nicked areas around the doors. The installation and the product are both proving to be outstanding. The condo now retains heat so well that the heat pump rarely kicks on (even when the outside temperature fell through the 30s last night), and sounds from outside are nearly imperceptible. On top of all of the outstanding work, they let us pay with a credit card for no extra charge, giving us bonus frequent flier miles. So from sales pitch to installation to the ease of payment, WDW was great to work with. We are now big fans and highly recommend them for door and window replacement. "
"Jay came out within hours of my call. He advised me that it would not be cost effective to repair my old doors. I will follow his recommendation and get new doors, but I appreciate his responsiveness and advice."

"Oddly enough, it was when Home Services - VA was reporting to my home to complete a scheduled project that a crack in the casing around the bay window was identified. Home Services - VA commented how easy the project would be to complete and recommended the work be corrected as soon as possible to minimize the water damage.
The project was completed in a day. Home Services - VA arrived with all the equipment needed to remove the old material and repair the damage. All damaged material was removed by Home Services - VA. The project was conducted in the front of the townhome. The project drew an audience and several neighbors enlisted Home Services - VA to get their bay windows repaired."

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts
Most standard windows can accommodate solar screens, but specialty shapes or non-standard frames may require custom solutions. It’s important to consult with a professional to ensure compatibility and proper fit for unique window designs. Arched, bay, and fabricated windows often need fabricated screens, which can increase costs and lead time.
Pet-resistant, vinyl-coated polyester is one of the strongest window screen materials available, with some manufacturers touting a 7x increase in strength compared to standard fiberglass screens. Stainless steel security screens are also extremely strong, but they’re not suitable for coastal areas due to the risk of corrosion from salty sea air. If sea air isn’t a concern, stainless steel is extremely tough.
Yes, a variety of screen materials cut out glare from the sun. Solar screen material can block up to 90% of the glare and heat from the sun, saving on cooling costs. It also offers privacy yet unlimited outward visibility. The cost depends on the size of the screen roll, but solar screens cost between $25 and $90 per roll.
It is generally recommended to remove window screens for the winter, especially in climates with heavy snow, freezing rain, or frigid temperatures. Removing them helps prevent damage to the screen mesh and frames that can be caused by ice and moisture buildup between the screen and the window. Taking out the screens also allows more natural light and warmth into your home during shorter winter days and makes it easier to clean your windows thoroughly. In warmer climates where harsh weather is not a concern, the decision is more about personal preference; some homeowners prefer the clearer view, while others leave them in for convenience.
Yes, you can fix windows without replacing them. However, this will depend on the severity of the issue and what your needs are. Minor water damage, broken glass, damaged casing, and worn caulking are usually easy repairs. But if there is excessive damage, the windows are constantly foggy, or the windows are very old, it’s best to consider replacing them. Replacement windows cost between $575 and $1,475 per window, or an average of $850 per window.
