"I've had Mahon at my house to fix big flood-scale plumbing disasters, and this time it was just a leak under our sink. They were great, and the plumber took the time to explain to us what was wrong, show it to us, and explain what needed to be done to fix it. These guys take care of us and we'll keep calling them in the future if we need a plumber!"

"Service was great from sales, to installation, to post installation support. Very responsive, very professional. It's hard to find in this 'space'--there are a lot of shady people in basement water damage/repair, and this place exceeded expectations. We've had our repair in place for 4+ years, with only 1 small issue on a wall seam crack, and that was fixed within 24 hours of reporting the issue. Stand up place! Thank you for such great service and support."

"Salesman was very accommodating and arranged a quick installation as the house was on the market already. Installers arrived promptly and worked quickly and efficiently. Work foreman was very easy to work with and took the time to explain everything. Work was finished in a timely manner. Work area was left clean. Two calls to the service dept. a couple of weeks later have gone unanswered. My C rating on responsiveness is a combination of an A for the sales rep and an F for the service dept."

"I had a great experience working with Basement Systems USA. These guys were very professional, hardworking, and clean. They told me exactly what I needed to do and I was glad I went with their suggestions. I always had leak issues and occasionally my old sump pump wouldnâ t even work. I can truly forget about it now even in the worst of storms. In fact, that happened the following weekend after they left! A big storm came through and we even lost power for a couple of hours. The backup battery they installed let the sump pump keep working perfectly. Talk about just in time!"

"This company is the model of A+++ customer service. Jai had left me a voice message concerning the scheduled appointment I made from Home Advisor. She was able to push up the appointment to meet my schedule needs. Ron came out to estimate the job. This was my first estimate for this project and I was skeptical to hire them prior to other quotes. He totally understood my concerns and said if I scheduled the installation at this time they would take $500.00 off the cost as well as give me a 30 day price match guarantee. On top of that the lifetime warranty on the work, labor and sump pump made it a no-brainer. Kelly contacted me the day before installation to verify everything and answer any questions I had. Joe and his team showed up on time, placed plastic around to minimize the dust and promptly did the work. They finished in approximately 4 hours. Upon completion he went over the instructions as well as ensuring I was comfortable with the outcome before my final payment. 2 days later I received a package in the mail from the office. In the package were printed photos of the different phases of the job. I could not be more pleased!! Thank You Affordable Basement Waterproofing, Inc. It is a wonderful thing to no longer worry about puddles in my basement!!!"

"$9,500 I was quoted for my concrete driveway and porch to be removed and a new concrete driveway and pad poured. I needed a culvert installed under the foot of my driveway for rain water drainage, it was agreed that a 4" pipe would work. When the crew came out to do the work, the demolition part went very smoothly but when it came to the drain I was told I needed an 8" pipe. The trench was dug for it including digging an 8" deep by 1 foot around hole in my nabors parking pad. Than I was told the grading was wrong. I told him water wasn't draining because the trench he dug for the 8" pipe he suggested was below the rest of the drain lines and the water will not flow untill it was leveled back out. He argued with me about it for about 3 hours wile the concrete was starting to be poured. After his own workers and I told him the 8" pipe would not work, we went back to the originally quoted 4" pipe and everything drained fine. After the concrete was completed the work looked great."

"Thomas Reamer and Ramon Goard installed a sump pump and drain line and reinforced the waterproofing material. Very thorough in explaining the problem, solution, and showing us pictures of the process throughout. They worked steadily through rain and heat. Very impressed with them and their work."

Storm Drain Installation FAQs, answered by experts

You do not have to purchase a storm door if you have a fiberglass door. Fiberglass doors offer numerous advantages, including durability and the ability to stand up to harsh conditions such as low or high temperatures. Fiberglass doors also have excellent insulation properties, so you don’t have to add on a storm door if you’re looking for better temperature regulation inside your home.

Some storm doors might need two closers, depending on the weather conditions in the area. For example, if it’s particularly windy where you live, installing two storm door closers (instead of one) can prevent your door from slamming shut when it’s propped open. You can place one at the top of your door and another at the bottom.

Each has its use, depending on the scenario. Security doors are primarily intended to keep people out of the home, while storm doors are used to protect the home from extreme weather. Both tend to be made from heavy-duty metal and may include glass panels to allow light to enter the home. Storm doors can feature mesh screens, just like screen doors, to allow for increased ventilation and to keep out pests. Security doors rarely, if ever, have mesh screens.

It is where the handle sits when you look at the door from outside. It matches the handle side of your front door.

Most homeowners can expect to pay between $186 and $680, with the cost of installing storm doors averaging $432, including both materials and installation. Labor costs range from $75 to $400, depending on the complexity of the job; however, paying for a professional helps save you time and ensures proper installation. If you go the DIY route, you could spend anywhere from $250 to $1,000 for just the labor kit, which includes the door and hardware. You’ll also need to budget for tools, like a power drill and level, if you don’t already have them.
