"Austin Wells handled our sinking concrete pad and cracks near my garage. He explained everything, neat, and very professional. My wife and I appreciated how he wore a uniform and conducted himself in as an expert in his field. I would definitely call JES again, in particular, Austin Wells to handle any other concrete leveling issues."

"The work was done well overall, but I had to remove some large concrete pieces from the sloping areas around the edges. The original diggers had buried these close to the surface, which would have made landscaping impossible. This was not Jerry's fault, as they did not follow his instructions to break these up, and add them to the substrate rock under the patio base. There were delays due to the very bad weather, out of his control, but the re-scheduling needs could have been communicated better, in my opinion."

"I&F concrete did an incredible job on our home. In the course of four months, we hired them to do six different jobs: retaining wall installation, sidewalk repair/installation, driveway stone paver installation, brick patio installation, fence installation, and basement access repair and installation. Each of these was done professionally, on time, and at great value. I could not be more pleased with my experience with Fidel and his company!"

"Rui and his family are very professional and friendly and aim to provide the best service.  He came promptly to provide an estimate,  The quote was more than reasonable, I thought, for the work they were to do.  They started fairly soon after contract signature.  From watching what they did, that wall is never going to fall apart.  Quite solid!  Had block behind, then concrete, then facing stone.  Topped with a stone cap for sitting (Rui's idea).  There are drainage holes to allow the rain thru the ground.  It did take a bit to complete the wall, but it rained quite a lot during the time they were working.  I had one small fussy thing about the finished wall that was just my personal preference - they took care of it immediately, no problem!  I definitely would use them again. They even gave me a bottle of Portuguese wine upon completion!  Thinking of doing my front walkway when I can afford it.

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

Concrete leveling can last anywhere from five to 10 years or more, and in some cases, it can be a permanent solution. The longevity depends on the method used and whether the underlying cause of the sinking is addressed. For example, mudjacking typically lasts five to 10 years, while polyjacking can last for 20 years or more. It's best to consult a professional for an accurate timeline based on your specific situation and any factors that could cause the issue to recur.

Mudjacking is suitable for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and nearly all exterior flat structures. However, it may not suit severely damaged or heavily cracked areas.

Address drainage issues, avoid heavy loads, and seal cracks to prevent future settling.

Polyjacking and mudjacking can both be effective solutions for sinking concrete, but they have key differences. Polyjacking, which uses expanding polyurethane foam, is often considered a better option because the foam is significantly lighter than the cementitious material used for mudjacking. This reduced weight puts less pressure on the underlying soil and lowers the risk of future sinking. Polyjacking is suitable for any sinking concrete slab, while mudjacking is typically only recommended for non-structural concrete, such as sidewalks, patios, pool decks, and driveways. The primary drawback of polyjacking is its cost, which can be up to four times higher than mudjacking—as much as $25 per square foot compared to a maximum of about $6 per square foot for mudjacking.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.
