"RICARDO IS AMAZING. AMAZING IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT. He did the paint for the inside of our house and everyone that has been in our house says it looks brand new!!! I can’t recommend this guy enough!!! He is very honest and straightforward. We are first time homebuyers and not at all handy in terms of maintenance but Ricardo helped us with our interior painting, broken door, deck, and so many other little things!!! I had a bunch of quotes from other painters but went with Ricardo because he was so honest what will look good for our house. Very responsive and friendly!! Very trustworthy!! Thanks, Ricardo!!! You helped us so much!"

"Jose and his crew came the same day as the job was requested and got the job down perfectly. One big tree over the electric wire was quite challenging but their crew cut the tree piece by piece without damaging any wire and near by structures. Brunches and debris were properly cleaned up after the work. Superb!"

Deck Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Choosing whether your deck should be lighter or darker than your house is a matter of personal preference, as there is no right or wrong answer. However, considering the pros and cons of each can help guide your decision. Darker colors are often chosen because they show less dirt, footprints, and marks from daily wear, making them easier to keep clean. On the other hand, lighter deck colors tend to stay cooler in the summer. From a design perspective, using a deck color that contrasts with your home's exterior can help make the deck a more defined and distinct feature. Consulting color theory can also make the process of choosing a complementary house and deck color combination easier.

Yes, deck footings typically require an inspection before laying down concrete. While not all local building codes require footing inspection, proper placement ensures a safe and structurally sound deck. An inspector will verify that the deck can adequately hold what you put on top of it., and that the footings have been dug to the correct dimensions.

If you want to make a deck cleaner from products already in your home, there are various options. The most common is to use a gentle blend of 1 gallon of warm water and 2 tablespoons of ammonia-free dish soap. You can also mix water with distilled vinegar. Sprinkling on some baking soda can help to remove mold and mildew. You can add oxygen bleach (but never damaging chlorine bleach) to the water and ammonia-free dish soap solution for something a bit stronger.

Staining and sealing the underside of a deck creates a moisture barrier but traps water in the boards, quickly leading to rot. No matter how well you seal the above deck, water still gets through via nails and screw heads on the surface. Allow this water to flow naturally under the deck, where it is routed through the drainage system.

Wood decks need to be replaced every 10 to 15 years on average. Natural wood is highly vulnerable to infiltration and damage from moisture, which can occur rapidly due to exposure to outdoor elements. You can protect your deck and maximize its lifespan by sealing it every year or two.
