"Jim was great!!, when they came out for the initial visit I learned I had a squirrel nest in my chimney, despite having a cap and enclosed wood buring insert. Jim advised that I put moth balls in the stove in an attempt to have the mother leave the chimney. The appointment was rescheduled for the following tues to complete the sweep and replace the Chimney cap. Well the mother squirrel was gone but left behind three very new babies in the nest. Jim took his time and carefully removed the babies and we called animal control since they were alive. Jim then completed the cleaning and replaced the cap. Hopefully this is the end of the squirrel motel. But seriously Chimney Chap did an excellent job both with cleaning, inspection and going above what I would expect to safely remove of my unwanted visitors. I will be sure to continue to use Chimney Chap yearly and for any additional firelplace needs I have.

"I was having a new roof put on and thought, oh maybe it would be a good idea to have the chimney buttoned up first in case there were any issues. Good thing I called RockSolid Chimney. My 120 year old brick chimney (it's a tall one, too) was nearing the end of its useful lifespan. Ted recommended to replace it from the roofline up to avoid any future issues. Also, the inside of said 120 year old chimney had some issues, including that since we switched to externally vented gas furnaces a couple years ago, there wasn't enough "draw" to pull up the emissions from our 2 gas hot water heaters and an ancient much-loved antique gas range that vents directly into the chimney. Ted recommended stainless steel twin liners, one to the gas range, the other to the gas hot water heaters. I wanted American-made brick and stainless steel chimney cap, no cheap junk from China, please. All good. Wilfred and his guys do the actual labor. They are great. Very conscientious, hardworking, and clean up when they are done. My new chimney is very handsome, the new cap keeps the weather and animals/birds out, the new liners... who the heck knows, what goes on inside the chimney, but it all works great. For $6,200 we definitely got what we paid for. I liked their work so much we hired them to repoint the chimney on our rental house, another $1,200. Oh yes, and they cleaned up my cracked front steps and skim coated them nicely for a couple hundred bucks as a bonus. Chimneys are ignored, overlooked, forgotten... don't forget or overlook yours. It is an essential health and safety component of your home."
