I'd like to also note for general reference that soundproofing is a global project: learn the weak areas where the sound travels--it's frequently not just your walls, but also through your floors and through your ceilings, including from neighbors on the same floor as you! You may think that just fixing one area will solve everything, but sound wave propagation needs to be considered from all directions/sources, and week areas need to be identified: e.g. you may need to redo your wall and your floor, for example, or your wall and your ceiling, or all 3 at once, depending on your exact needs and situation."
