"It was a pleasure doing business with Mike and AJ this morning. I had called them to look at a broken sliding door. I didn't have much hope it could be repaired because someone else had already looked at it and advised it had to be replaced. I was very surprised when they pulled the door off, examined it and told me they could fix it. Their honestly totally impressed me! When I was told the price it was extremely reasonable which also pleased me so I inquired about some other work I needed. Without hesitation Mike quickly prepared an estimate. The price again was very reasonable so I also hired him to replace my deck , front stairs, cellar door and 2 windows!"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

On average, it cost $2,900 to rescreen a patio, porch, or sunroom, with homeowners paying anywhere from $800 to $5,200. The cost to rescreen a porch, patio, or sunroom enclosure depends on the size of the enclosure, the extent of the damage, and the materials used to replace existing screens.

Most standard windows can accommodate solar screens, but specialty shapes or non-standard frames may require custom solutions. It’s important to consult with a professional to ensure compatibility and proper fit for unique window designs. Arched, bay, and fabricated windows often need fabricated screens, which can increase costs and lead time.

A screened-in porch requires maintenance to keep the screens clean and in good shape, and you may have to do some screen repair or replacement from time to time. A screen porch isn’t an all-season porch, so the weather can get in, including wind and rain.

A garage door screen can be a worthwhile investment, especially if you frequently use your garage for activities like a home gym, workshop, or other hobbies. It allows you to enjoy fresh air and natural light without worrying about bugs. Additionally, a screen provides ventilation that can improve air quality when you're working with paints, varnishes, or producing sawdust.

The best option depends on your usage. For occasional use, a DIY fabric screen is a low-cost, simple solution that you can put up and take down as needed. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the space, investing in a customized, professionally installed garage door screen can help transform the area into a new hub for your household.

Adding a window to a brick house costs $3,100 to $10,575. Because you’ll need to make changes to the structure of the home, the cost will include obtaining permits and hiring the best pros for this complex job. Larger windows will cost more to install, and the cost can vary based on the window frame material you choose.
