Small jobs welcome

"Thank you John for a fantastic job! Hired Mr. Handyman to install an exterior door. John was very knowledgeable and professional. He explained the entire install process. He took the time to explain the additional issue of rot which was uncovered during the install. My entire experience working with Mr Handyman was a positive one. I would definitely recommend them for any of your household projects."

"He did a very good job, on time, very clean, knowleadgeable of what he was installing. The house had a wiring problem with the original thermostat and he was able to figure it out. He was very good."

"We hired Chamberlain to fix some lights that were wired by a friend and not tied into the light switches, as well as install a bathroom vanity light and fix an exterior light. Not only was Peter professional, personable and knowledgable, he went above and beyond the scope of work he had quoted. He even crawled under the enclosed porch to see (and help fix) the wiring the previous home owners had messed up. Peter did everything we asked and more, all for a very good price. We will hire him again and cannot recommend him enough to others seeking electrical work!!"

Nest Installation questions, answered by experts

Alongside selecting the best bait for an iguana trap, the location, position, and timing play a part. If the lizards have a burrow in your yard or regularly take the same route, place the trap there during the day. Iguanas are diurnal and most active during the day. A shady spot is best to keep the animal comfortable. And don’t forget to pick a level surface or stabilize the trap with a brick—iguanas are less likely to enter if it’s wobbly.

Bees usually have thicker, fuzzy bodies, while wasps have slender, smooth bodies. Behavior and nesting also differ.

It is a myth that smashing a stink bug attracts more stink bugs. According to the National Pesticide Information Center, killing a stink bug will not attract more of them. They are able to secrete a pheromone that attracts other bugs, but they will only release their alarm pheromone when they’re squished—which won’t attract more bugs.

No, the spotted lanternfly does not sting, bite, or otherwise do anything painful or damaging to humans or animals. Do not hesitate to approach and kill the insects and any eggs you find on sight—you’ll be playing an important role in slowing the spread of these invasive and destructive pests. If you’re not sure if the insect is a spotted lanternfly, snap a picture and contact your local extension office for help identifying it.

Many different types of animals like to build nests in attics. The types may vary depending on your home’s condition and location and you can prevent them by sealing off entry points and eliminating food sources. The most common critters that like to build nests in your attic include:

  • Raccoons
