"Had a wall put in, old driveway ripped out and a new driveway put in. Previous driveway was very steep slope so cars couldnâ t get in. They leveled the slope and put in a new driveway for a great price"

"My driveway was well overdue for replacement When I bought my house nine years ago, but like many people I’m sure, it never rose to the top of my budget to do list. Finally, this year decided I had to bite the bullet. I got quotes from a number of companies, but BK & Sons offered the best price for the job with the changes I wanted (wider apron, reshaped parking area, etc) and the features I felt we’re important (10” of sub base, 2x 2” layers of asphalt vs 1 single 4” layer). My new driveway is so much better than I could have imagined. It’s laser straight where it once dipped and sagged, but they even improved the overall grade of my hill by raising up sections and lowering others to have a more consistent slope rather than a low spot and steep section. They truly went above and beyond but just to replace, but to improve my driveway. Great job!"

"This was my first professional driveway seal coat job. Pat and his 2 helpers did an excellent job. They were very efficient and the driveway looks brand new. I had many cracks that were patched before sealing. Wish I had used them in the past."

"My driveway was sinking badly in front of my garage, and I also had bad cracks in my driveway. Do All accessed it and repaired it, we just got a big rain storm and the rain flowed perfectly because they did a great job with the pitch of the pavement. And the cracks and sealer job Mike did was perfect. They saved me a ton of money because my driveway is repaired and will last years now! I should have sealed my driveway 15 years ago!!! I would recommend Do All, they were great from start to finish and even followed up to make sure I was satisfied."

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The decision to repair or replace your driveway depends on the extent of the damage. If your driveway has a few small cracks, a simple repair will do the trick. If you see larger cracks and potholes, it may be time to consider resurfacing or replacement. Resurfacing is a great option if more than 25% of the surface is damaged, but if the damage is extensive—deep cracks or significant sinking—it’s best to replace the driveway entirely. A new driveway, with proper care, can last decades while patching or resurfacing might only hold up for a few years before needing more attention.

In terms of durability, concrete driveways can last more than 50 years when properly maintained, compared to the typical 30 years for an asphalt driveway. However, the durability depends on the climate, base material and thickness, and thickness of the concrete or asphalt used. The longevity of concrete or asphalt driveways also depends on how well it’s maintained and the amount of wear and tear it endures.

Driveway aprons typically range between four and seven inches thick, though your town's building codes will likely have specific requirements. Additionally, you may need to add a layer of permeable aggregate in the excavation below your paved apron to ensure proper stormwater drainage.

It takes recycled asphalt 48 hours to initially harden and up to 3 months to fully cure. It’s best to stay off of recycled asphalt for at least 48 hours, then you can walk or drive standard vehicles on it. Hold off on driving heavy trucks or equipment on it for at least 7 days. Allowing the surface to melt together and harden ensures that the surface stays durable and long-lasting.
