"Brian and Julia were great from start to finish. From the initial contact and quote, to installation through frozen ground on a cold day, to the training, and ultimate successful containment of an incorrigible golden retriever puppy running out to greet and maul everyone walking by. If youâ re looking for a pet fence and company to deal with from day 1 and beyond, you will find none better and will be very satisfied with Brian and Julia."

"Rob and his crew did an amazing job on our fence. We thought we wanted a PVC fence but after talking to him decided to go with the cedar fence and we completely agree with his reasons and with the results! Wow! We changed the placement of the fence just before install and Rob had no problem accommodating the new placement either. Kept us informed of all the steps along the way and got the whole project done in 3 days. Our dog now has the room to run and roam and our yard looks fantastic. Thanks Rob!"

"Great experience working with Fence 101. Communication was excellent from scheduling to getting an estimate to the work being done. They were able to accommodate our smaller fence repair same-day, which was deeply appreciated. The team was professional and a pleasure to work with. And the work was done very well - we could not be happier!"

"Martinez Lanscaping are efficient and perform quality work! Gustavo is communicative and truly wants the customer to be happy with the outcome. Our rotting patio and retaining wall were completely replaced and the new patio looks great! We were impressed and hired them for a second job, to add a wood fence over the old chain link, which we thought would be a "next year" project. The new fence was in before the next snowfall. We also had them do a quick and simple fix to our side garden wall which had fallen apart. We didn't want anything fancy, and they kept to that perfectly with a simple wood box."

"Mario is such a great guy. He was very responsive to my phone calls and then came over the same day to give me an estimate. I have a huge lawn and now that summer vacation time is up, I simply don't have time to keep up with the mowing. I'm very short on cash, but I thought I'd call someone and see how much it would be. I have called a few people in the last year or so but had no luck what-so-ever. Mario also was listed as doing fence repair work and since I need my fence repaired too, I thought I'd try him. He not only gave me a very fair price, but he came right over the next day to mow the lawn. I couldn't beleive it, I figured it would be a while. I was literally driving by my house and I saw him there. I slammed on my brakes and gave him the money. He did the work without even knowing he'd have the money there and ready for him when he finished. The lawn looks amazing, so much better than when I did it! I plan to use him as much as I can, on my limited budget. He has even said he can do any odd jobs and handyman type work around the house so I hope to be able to use him for that too.

Animal Fencing questions, answered by experts

Besides reptile sightings, look for droppings resembling small pellets. Shed skin left behind during growth is another clue. Unusual chirping or rustling sounds could also suggest an infestation. If unsure, consulting a professional can provide accurate identification and effective solutions for managing the situation. If proper pest prevention measures aren't taken, a lizard can live up to five years. And that's a long time to have an undesirable roommate.

You should never use toxic baits or poisons, such as rodenticides designed for mice and rats, to kill or trap possums. Using these toxicants is illegal in many areas and can lead to fines or other penalties. Furthermore, these poisons can cause unnecessary suffering for the animal and pose a significant risk of accidental poisoning to pets or other neighborhood wildlife. Instead of using poisons, it is best to stick with humane methods like live trapping.

Voles are attracted to areas with lots of vegetation that they can hide in. Since they eat mostly grasses, tubers, and bulbs, a robust garden can attract voles that wouldn’t have looked twice at a barren rock garden. Voles also like to hide out in dense ground cover, so that can attract them as well.

If a coyote approaches you, never run away, even if it goes against your natural instinct. Make yourself look big, shout loudly, and throw something in the coyote's direction. Be persistent and continue these scare tactics until they move away. Then, you should move away slowly, always facing the coyote.

If you’re having trouble with your traps, first examine them for flaws that would allow a squirrel to escape easily, such as loose doors or hinges. It’s also important to consider the location of your trap: Place it in areas with higher squirrel traffic, and make sure it’s on a sturdy surface so it can’t wobble or tip (squirrels aren’t likely to walk in a trap that isn’t stable). Lastly, try changing out your bait—in-shell peanuts or peanut butter often work best.
