However, you can also go with a high-quality oil-based or latex water-based paint. Each has its own look and sheen—with high gloss, semi-gloss, and matte styles available. All inset cabinets are face frame cabinets, but not all face frame cabinets are inset cabinets. You have three main cabinet door styles to choose from with face frame cabinets: inset, partial overlay, or full overlay. With inset cabinets, the doors and drawers are mounted inside the face frames, so the fronts of the cabinets are flush when everything is closed.

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.

You don’t necessarily need to seal bathroom cabinets after painting, especially if you’ve used a gloss or semigloss paint. But adding a coat of high-quality sealant can add a layer of protection against bathroom moisture that can cause the wood to swell or warp or allow mold and mildew growth.
