Damian and the D Day Plumbing team were very professional and knowledgeable and provided an estimate with a couple different options and their related costs. They installed a new utility sink, sink pump, and needed piping and valves with tie ins to the main septic. They made improvement above and beyond the initial job breakdown, all the while staying within budget. I will certainly consider them again for any future work. You should service your AC at least once per year, in the spring, and twice per year if your unit is 10 years or older. As your unit ages, more maintenance can catch problems early and help the system reach its full lifespan potential, usually 15 years.

Get on your HVAC technician’s schedule in early spring so your unit is ready to go for the season. If you’re doing two inspections per year, aim for one in the spring and one in the fall. You should also service your furnace once per year in the fall.

Fixing a leak in an AC unit costs $200 to $1,600, depending on the type of leak and any related damage. But depending on the age and condition of your AC, it might make more sense to replace the AC unit instead of repairing it. If your AC is only a few years old and relatively problem-free, then repairing it is the right call. But if it’s nearing a decade old and has other issues, consider replacing it.

Both evaporator coils and condenser coils are recyclable and contain valuable, sellable metals such as copper and aluminum. Not only is it more earth-friendly to take them to a local metal recycling facility, but you can also trade them in for cash. Also, once the coils are removed from the system, they won’t have any traces of refrigerant, so you won’t have to arrange for recycling Freon or R-410A unless you’re disposing of the entire AC system.
