"Workers dropped construction trailer yesterday afternoon & began work this AM. Sergei (owner) stopped by and explained minor changes. Workers very professional & courteous. Bad weather pushed timetable back by a couple of weeks. However, Sergei stayed in touch by phone & stopped by with his framer to go over measurements. So far we are very pleased. Sergei mismeasured opening for storm door which is going to require a custom made door. He explained that he would absorb the additional cost. I admire his honesty. Project completed a few days ago except for storm door. Good job, workers cleaned up everything. Sergei stopped by to be sure we are satisfied & accepted partial payment until custom storm door is here & installed. We also had an issue with during heavy rain we had water leaking into the soffet which they repaired with a j channel. I would definitely use Alliance again for any outside projects or repairs."

"Made an appt. with Castle Rep, James, for 17 windows and vinyl siding. He spent 1 hour talking about how great his company and windows are before finally getting down to the issue. We were told that CASTLE makes and services their own window, with all the best technology and technicians available. The price per window for energy efficient came out to over $1,200 per double-hung window! And since they make their own products, we could not find a way to compare quality and price with other manufacturers. But his per-window price exceeds the average price of $500-700 by A LOT! When we balked, he made a call to his "manager" to see if we qualified for a "special promotional" discount. If we were to commit right there on the spot, we would get an additional 10% off! Still way to high. We said we would think about it (he got sad and snippy), and that we wanted to hear about the vinyl siding quote before we made any decisions. He told us he could not give us a siding quote until his company did an "eagle view" measurement, which would require another appointment! We had no intention of sitting through ANOTHER high-pressure appointment. High pressure, long-drawn out presentation and he would not leave us with anything in writing! No brochures, prices, nothing! He refused to put anything in writing and we could not have a break down of labor and costs. I even asked him if I could have a copyhh of the window warranty and he said "only if you purchase right now." And they did not come prepared with references or previous job locations! When we further researched the company, we found they did make very excellent products, but the #1 complaint was by far that they did not honor their lifetime warranty and that customer service was horrible. In the end, we chose not to do business.."

"I cannot speak highly enough of Tom and Brad Green of Colonial Restorations. We have lived in our antique house for 16 years now, and like most old homes, some of its previous repairs were good, some not so good. Tom Green worked on this house for its previous owners, and his work was, by far, the best in the house. So, we continued to use Colonial - Tom, then Tom and Brad - as we learned the ropes about caring for an old house - our first house, old or new. Over the years, they have replaced sills and posts and beams, and rebuilt parts of our loose stone foundation. Most recently, they replaced the last original posts in our basement, (one of which was a tree trunk still with bark on it), including pouring new custom footings, in advance of our finally cementing the dirt floor. The work here is never easy - nothing is level, nothing is square - but the Greens' end result has always been beautiful - strong and made to last. Their prices are fair and without hidden costs....maybe not the lowest bid you might get, but you know it's a real bid that they will stand behind. They triage projects for us, giving us an idea of what other items will likely need attention in the next few years. We're not done with this house yet....we've never won the lottery, and there's always another repair..... and plan to use them again soon. I feel confident knowing that the next owners of this house, whoever they might be, will see the quality of the work and know that we cared enough to have the right people help us with the ongoing repair and maintenance of a 275+ year old house. I am a real person, a real customer, with no ties to the company, and was more than happy to write this review."

"Yes the work was done. The two guys that came put in 7 windows and two big bay windows in one day. They did not even taken a break. They cleaned up the small pieces of scrap. Then one week later they came back and put in two new doors with the same professionalism when they did my doors."

"When I first contacted Brian about repairs to my siding, he was responsive and came out and met me. At the time, I loved him. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and proposed a reasonable course of action to attempt repairs on my siding before replacing anything.
A week or two later, I started calling the Neponset Valley Construction office to schedule the work. I left messages both with the person who answered the phone and with Brian's voicemail 4 or 5 times and never received a call back.
Then my wife did the same, again never receiving a call back.
Finally, my wife left a message noting that we had seen a recommendation for this company on Angie's List, were disappointed by the lack of any response when we were trying to schedule work, and that we would be leaving a review on Angie's List and moving on.
Brian almost immediately called my wife back on her cell phone leaving an angry message about us "threatening" them -- ironically, it seems that promising to leave a review that reflected our experience WAS the ONLY thing that got their attention!
Since we had still liked Brian's recommended approach, we called him to smooth over any bad feelings and agreed to try to schedule the work. That call was great! But...
...Brian immediately became non-responsive again. Multiple calls and text messages went unresponded to. Eventually, he suggested that he could fit us in in mid/late November. A ridiculous time frame, but we still tried to schedule a concrete date.... and we were ignored AGAIN.
We gave up and found someone else who came to visit our house, proposed repairs, and performed the repairs within 2 weeks. 
Despite Brian's obvious knowledge and talent, he is not worth the headache of trying to deal with him. I recommend you find someone else. Good luck!"

"It was so expensive I couldn't afford it. He wanted to fix the mold but he didn't want to repair the ceiling so I told him forget about it. He just wanted to go on the wall and then bathe them all and then leave. So I never called them back because I never want that. The responsiveness was good."
