"I was very lucky to find Colin Young and his great crew, carpenter David Hackett and his talented son, Andrew. We were taking down an old deck and adding a room to our house, along with doing a little kitchen remodeling. Dave and Andrew are excellent craftsmen. They also came up with creative solutions to some tricky design problems. Dave and Andrew always showed up on time, worked hard, then cleaned up the site at the end of the day. My step-father was a builder and I learned from him that there are right ways and wrong ways to do a job. Dave and Andrew did things the right way, and never cut corners. From day one, John and Karin provided impeccable service. I cannot say enough wonderful things about their communication, transparency, honestly, and reliability. All current insurance/contractor licenses were provided up front, and any change in cost was documented through clear contracts. In addition, they patiently navigated me through a difficult permitting process from start to finish. Once the work was started, I had a gorgeous new deck in just over one week. "I contracted Black Stallion Enterprises LLC to replace the roofs on two of my houses. The entire process from the initial estimate to completion was fair, easy, transparent, and professional. They arrived promptly, completed the job on time and within budget. The workers were clean and worked full days with minimal disturbances to our everyday activities. Joe oversaw the job and provided step-by-step updates, explaining what was being done and the reasoning behind it. Additionally, where things were not done properly by the original builder, BSE added the necessary products and fixed it, all within the original price estimate. The roofs look beautiful, and we are already seeing efficiency as a result of the replacement. The BSE team followed up after completion to ensure we were happy. They definitely stand behind their work and materials. I highly recommend BSE for all construction projects and will hire them again."

"????? If I could give zero stars, I would Hiring this contractor was a nightmare from start to finish. The bathroom they delivered is so poorly done that I feel like I need to redo it entirely. They rely on subpar subcontractors with no professionalism or craftsmanship. ? Overpromise and underdeliver: I had to stay on top of every detail myself, doing the job the contractor was hired to manage. ? Unreliable: Never kept appointments or confirmed schedules. The only time they showed up on time was to collect payment. ? Unsafe practices: At one point, a subcontractor was cutting concrete inside the bathroom with a gas?powered tool, filling my entire home with smoke. I had to intervene to stop it and argue just to get basic protections like tarps in place. ? Poor management: Subcontractors openly complained about not being paid, and I even had to send one home myself because of unacceptable behavior. ? End result: Substandard work that does not reflect the money spent. Save yourself "

"Peter and his crew were great. Peter was prompt in responding to my inquiry and came out to the house to walk through the lead report and work that needed to be done with me. He gave me a number of options for remediating things and showed me where we could do things in a less expensive manner--explaining the costs and benefits of the different approaches. For example, in one area he told me it was going to cost a significant amount for him to remediate and that it would ultimately be much cheaper for me to replace a section of wood railing instead of remediating the paint. This was to my benefit and his detriment, so I really appreciated it. His crew remediated 15 historic windows and they fixed some cracked panes of glass without my even asking. Peter was very fair, always in communication, and they completed the work promptly and professionally. I highly recommend."
