"When Eversource relocated my gas meter, they discovered several â violations", and shut off the gas (this was in January). Tim agreed to come out the following day. He arrived with two trucks and two men, ready to work. Needless to say, I wasnâ t expecting such a response. After assessing the situation, the technicians solved my problems by noon. The workmanship was outstanding. I cannot recommend them more highly. They literally saved my butt."

"Excellent service from beginning to end. I first called to request the service, I could not speak with any members, but they promptly returned my call, understood the request and made an appointment. The day of service, the technician arrived on time and explained the work to be done and eventually his findings. He was very polite, professional and knowledgeable. He also gave us tips on how to better maintain the system for improved performance. Overall, excellent service. We highly recommend then and we will definitely use them again"

"We had a bad leak from our water heater and called direct plumbing services. The owner told us heâ d give us a free estimate, which is nice as other companies charge to give you an estimate and you donâ t get it back. We were happy with the estimate. They came over that day and replaced the tank. They told us how long it would take and they actually did the job in less time. They cleaned up everything. And the next day we had another bad leak so we called them and he came right over. It was the AC pump. He fixed that for us right away. He is a very nice guy/ businessman and wants to help you. Very reasonable with there prices. We really liked that he didnâ t make us wait to get things fixed. Very efficient. Weâ d highly recommend Direct Plumbing Service of Chicopee, Ma."

Gas Logs questions, answered by experts

Built-in gas grills typically have a life span of 10 to 15 years. However, their longevity can vary based on quality, usage frequency, climate conditions, and maintenance routines. High-quality models made from durable materials tend to last longer. Additionally, regular cleaning, covering the grill when not in use, and conducting routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning burners and replacing worn-out parts can extend its life. A well-maintained built-in gas grill can provide excellent performance and memorable cooking experiences for a decade or more, making it a worthwhile investment for outdoor cooking enthusiasts.

DIY is not recommended due to safety concerns. Professional installation ensures proper connections and compliance with codes.

Local codes often mandate specific fittings, permits, and vent considerations for permitted function and safety, which are enforced by professionals.

While it’s possible to repair minor grill issues like replacing a burner, more serious issues are clear indicators that you need to replace the entire unit. A few signs that your gas grill may be at the end of its life span and it’s time to consider replacing it include:

  • Rusty or cracked firebox

  • Weak, yellow, or uneven flames

  • Flaking, cracking grates

  • Leaking or cracked propane hoses

  • Failing igniter

  • Heavy buildup of grease

The difference between a built-in and regular grill is installation and design. A built-in grill is integrated into an outdoor kitchen or structure, often within a countertop or island. It is a permanent fixture. A regular grill is standalone, portable, or cart-mounted, allowing mobility and versatility in placement. Built-in grills are typically larger with more cooking space, while regular grills come in various sizes. Built-in grills are favored for creating a custom outdoor cooking area, while regular grills provide convenience and flexibility.
