Emergency services offered

"I really can’t say a single bad thing about my irrigation installation experience. Chris came out for the quote and was very knowledgeable, professional and listened to my needs. I asked where heads would go because I was considering some hardscaping in the near future and didn’t want placement to be an issue. He actually recommended a company to me and the two companies worked with each other on my entire backyard makeover The installation crew was meticulous with adjusting the heads and I love the different styles of heads placed around the property. Chris’ communication was awesome from start to finish. The technician programmed my controller for me and the system has worked beautifully. I hydroseeded and began to see grass after just a week with a sprinkler system. The whole experience was seamless and I couldn’t be happier."

Small jobs welcome

"I'm not going to lie, Diego and his crews is hardworking people and did a great job on landscaping. Prices is little bit high?... but I'm not sure since I don't know anything about landscaping. I am happy with my results. Definitely, hiring them again to do my next fence."

Lawn Irrigation questions, answered by experts

Fast-track your seeds to success by pre-soaking them for 24 hours in a shallow container filled with tap water. The water will penetrate the husk and moisten the embryos inside. After one day of soaking, sow the seeds in the soil. Never soak the seeds for more than one day (unless the specific variety calls for longer), as prolonged soaking could cause them to rot.

Both zoysia grass and bermuda grass are somewhat similar to St. Augustine because they’re all warm-season grasses. Beyond that, most grass types have unique properties that set them apart. Zoysia grass costs twice the price of St. Augustine grass on average and it has thinner blades and a deeper green appearance. Bermuda grass, compared to St. Augustine, has much thinner blades, is softer to the touch, and has a higher tolerance for colder weather.

Buffalo grass spreads through both underground roots and above-ground stolons. The widespread root and stolon system makes up for this grass’s overall lack of density. It’s a hearty grass, so it spreads on its own slowly, especially considering that most of the male (no staminate) varieties of grass are sterile. You may think about over-maintaining your lawn to encourage growth, but this would have the opposite effect.

While it may seem easier and faster to throw grass seed onto dirt and call it a day, that method likely won’t yield great results. Preparing your lawn for reseeding or seeding by clearing rocks and debris, aerating, removing existing grass, or leveling it. You should also plan out the best time to plant your grass based on its type and your location to ensure it grows well. So, if you want your grass to grow successfully, put more time and effort into the project than throwing seed on the ground.

The time you should wait before walking on new grass depends on whether you used seed or sod. If you laid new grass seed, it's best to wait about eight weeks before stepping on it, as new grass is fragile. For sod, it typically establishes itself in the ground in about two weeks. For heavy traffic, like driving a car across a new grass driveway, you might need to wait an entire season.
