"When I first met Edwin he was very polite. He promised to follow the explicit details of the project which were to match existing fence. He said he would start in two weeks. When he finally showed up it had been a month. He stayed for a few hours and went home sick after having brought a small amount of disgraceful materials. I mistakenly agreed to pay $300 for these in advance. The wood was cracked, some posts too large and the boards the wrong species. After being instructed not to use a specific post he did so anyway. Then proceeded to make the gate a foot shorter than fence. After he left I noticed the cross bars were pine which he argued and lied over until Angi got involved. To keep job he agreed to get cedar like the original fence. By then I had had enough manipulation and childishness. He insisted on finishing job and I did not want him to. So in fear he would, I had to keep and move the materials he lazily left. If I do not get my $300 back I am glad because the gentleman working for him was very kind and I don’t want Edwin having an excuse not to pay him. Edwin is dishonest, and immature. I do not recommend him! My parents recently passed away and I wanted the project done for my Mother at least by Father’s Day. I am disabled and my puppy who is helping me to survive is not safely contained in my front yard. The Summer is wasted because I cannot empty the garage and get my home ready for a future PCA. Edwin knows not what he did and didn’t do. Do not hire this person and God Bless!"

"Sloppy install resulted in damage to driveway and patio. Made no effort to repair. Hardware and part of the fence was not as quoted and had to be redone. Fence is fine but would not use again or recommend them."

"Excellent! The old wooden fence was removed and replaced but we also added a pergola. The installer (Jaime) did a great job and cleaned everything up. He arrived around 7:00 AM and did the job by himself. Very hard worker who was friendly and polite."

"Durable fencing is the way to go. I hired them to install vinyl fencing around the perimeter of my home. They were professional, dependable and financially affordable. I had 6 estimates done and durable fencing was most affordable of them all. Felipe came and gave a estimate and set a date. Arrived on the date planned as promised.After reading all the reviews everyone was talking about Felipe so, I requested he do the job himself. He did better, He offered up his Father..lol. I am completely satisfied, not only satisfied. Astonished because after the job was done. About 2 month later I realized I wanted a part of the fencing removed. I called, told him and that I am willing to pay for the removal. They did it for Free. Now with that said. They are worth every penny. I wish other companies were like them. Thank you Felipe and family. Wish you did other work, like laying hard wood flooring…..Do you?… lol Thank you once again. P.s. My neighbor was also impressed with the job. His emails were prompt and gave information on details that showed mastery of his craft. The estimate he gave was the ultimate price he billed. Every communication was prompt, and so was his arrival to do the work. He did the repair of two sections of iron railing expertly -- welding in replacement pieces and painting to match the current. "The tenants emailed me to tell me that Stefano's was showing up at the property and basically driving around on their riding mower over a dead lawn. I received no phone call or notification from Stefano's about the fact that they have been for over a month "mowing" a dead lawn, or even that my lawn was dead in the first place and might need to be reseeded. To be fair, the tenants should have told me earlier about it, but it isn't their job. Stefano's is the company that I pay thousands of dollars to a year specifically to take care of this lawn!!!! For context, I have been using Stefano's landscaping since 2015, so 7 to 8 years now. Initially, when the company was smaller, they offered a customer friendly service that was attentive to individual customer needs. I live in the Montreal area and have relied on Stefano's landscaping to take care of the lawn for my property in Wakefield, MA, year after year. When I contacted them to ask why they had not advised me of the problem with the dead lawn, they blamed me for not watering the lawn, and that weekly mowings were a take it or leave it proposition whether or not the lawn is dead. They were completely insensitive to the fact I didn't know the lawn was dead, and that THEY DID KNOW and didn't advise me. Because they forced me to choose between weekly mowings or nothing, this left me no choice but to cancel the service. However, I thought it would be fair that they take responsibility for the many weeks they have now spent giving the lawn "services" consisting of driving to the property then driving around on a dead lawn without notifying me. Their response was to accuse me of being dissatisfied for wanting bi-weekly instead of weekly mowings (which was NOT the issue), accuse me of being inconsiderate for taking up other customers' time slots, and that they had after all "done things" on the property. Baffled by this response, I pointed out that this would result in a negative review online, after which they accused me of threatening to leave a negative review in retaliation for not receiving free "services" and that the owner of the company would contact their lawyer to sue me over this. IF IT IS NOT CLEAR FROM THE ABOVE, TO AVOID A SIMILAR EXPERIENCE, I WOULD RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!"

"I truly cannot express how AMAZING Carlos and his crew is and wish that I’d met him two years ago. We were at the tail end of a major renovation that we’d started with another contractor and it was full of all the horror stores that you’d expect; people not showing up, shoddy work, constant delays and more. We’d spoken with a bunch of other builders and had similar results; we were at our wits end and truly wished we’d never started this project that we’d long dreamed of doing. After reading Carlos’ reviews, I called him, resigned to the fact that this would be another frustrating dead-end and explained the status of our project; he came out the next day and sent two crews of carpenters the day after that. In four days, Carlos did what our previous contractor hadn’t been able to do in fourteen months! He fixed a ton of poorly done work (including a set of winding oak stairs- no small feat!) and finished our project in ways we could not have imagined a week ago. Literally every day, my wife and I would say to ourselves, “is this really happening?!” Our house looks amazing, the craftsmanship is incredible and we couldn’t be happier. All of his carpenters are excellent to work with, communicate their ideas clearly, and are extremely clean. They offered ideas as to best use the space without adding to the budget and even fixed things I hadn’t noticed were installed wrong by the previous contractor. They showed up on time, did their jobs well and I truly cannot thank them enough. Thank you Marceil, Marcellino and everyone else at Alcantara! I will literally never hire anyone but Carlos for any building needs and have already referred him to three friends that are looking to do projects ranging from building decks to large interior renovations. Carlos, you’re a lifesaver!"
