"They first came out to do a routine check and informed us of what we should / needed to do to have our fire place perform better. The quote they provided was very reasonable. We decided to install a rain cap after the sweep and getting an appointment was very easy. The technician arrived early and completed the work quickly."

"Chuck was super helpful and very responsive. I asked him to inspect and clean my chimney. Once on the roof he saw a hole that a squirrel had dug through the roof into the attic. I couldn't believe the photos he showed. I didn't think it was possible. He ended up spending his whole day here getting the squirrel out, repairing the roof, and then finishing the job he came here to do. Very friendly, great customer service, quality work! I would definitely hire him again for any projects around the house I need help with."

"Kevin Lord of Lord Exteriors responded promptly to my request for an estimate to replace the roof on a small house (summer 2016 on Cape Cod). The estimate was complete and the price was fair. We set a date for the work to begin (the following week). Kevin kept me informed as to their start date and they started right on schedule. The work was completed quickly and efficiently. He was organized and also very considerate about the placement of the roofing materials/equipment in the yard. The clean-up afterwards was impeccable. I was very happy with the work that Kevin and his team did - they were efficient, knowledgeable, polite, and hard-working. Based on the roof replacement that they did on my house, I recommend the roofing work of Kevin Lord of Lord Exteriors."

Chimney Caps questions, answered by experts

Yes, with features like LED lighting and variable speed controls for efficiency.

Yes, they can assess the size, kitchen layout, and ventilation requirements to make recommendations.

If a range hood has minor issues, the average repair costs $85 to $210. This accounts for both parts and labor. More extensive damage can cost as much as $300 to $500, at which point it may be worth considering completely replacing the range hood.

A range hood is an exhaust fan for your kitchen, and several types and styles exist. They are meant to remove grease, moisture, and fumes from your stove. Although some models filter and recirculate the air, the most effective ones remove the air through a duct that’s vented to the outdoors.

No, range hoods do not necessarily have to be vented outside. Ductless or non-vented range hoods are available, which are common in condos or small kitchens where connecting to external ductwork isn't feasible. These hoods operate by taking in air, filtering it through charcoal filters to help eliminate smoke and odors, and then recirculating the cleaned air back into the kitchen. However, while these recirculating hoods are more versatile, venting to the outside is still the preferred and more effective method for completely removing smoke, odors, and gases from the room.
