"When we were ready, a person came to my home and prepared a template of the countertops out of wood. Installation was smooth and professional. Every fit perfectly! The installers were so good! They cleaned up afterward, measured for the faucet to be an exact fit, and explained what cleaning products were best for the Corian. My kitchen looks beautiful!! This company is highly recommended. Do ask about the Corian sink verses the stainless steel. The the stainless steel sink ends up costing more because there is an additional charge for installing it. The Corian sink is so pretty, seamless and has a clean finished look to it.

While no countertop material is truly “heatproof,” granite countertops are extremely resistant to high temperatures. Some types of granite can withstand temperatures up to 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit. Most countertops come with a standard eased edge design as part of their fabrication cost, so that edge style will not cost extra on top of the countertop fee. Eased edges are simple, elegant, and have a classic look. Square edges are also inexpensive to add to most types of countertop material, and they look good with most contemporary home styles. If you redo your kitchen cabinets or kitchen style, they are likely to fit the new style, so you will not need to change countertops or have the edges recut, which can save remodeling costs in the future.

If the damage is minor, you can repair countertops without replacing them. You can also resurface a laminate countertop rather than replace it when it gets old and dingy. Countertop resurfacing is a relatively easy project, though it can be time-consuming, so you may prefer to hire a pro to do this for you.

You should use glue and screws when installing butcher block countertops. Opt for a construction adhesive or wood glue applied along the top edge of your base cabinets. For added strength, install support brackets on the base cabinets, then secure your countertop with screws. Make sure you only tighten the screws to the point where the butcher block is snug against the cabinet and don’t overtighten.
