"My husband and I initially hired Alex to power wash then stain our deck. Since my husband at a young student, painted homes, he was aware of Alex’ meticulous work. Most recently, Alex, power washed our house followed by painting the interior of our home, as well as the exterior trim of our home. He replaced boards that were damaged by bees on the outside shed. Alex was punctual, polite, and a spotless cleaner upper. A gold star painter!"

"we were moving into our new home and want to get a couple of rooms painted before all our furniture arrived. It was a last minute decision and I reached out via Home Advisors and Regal contracted immediately and was able to start immediately and did a very professional job, on a very tight timeline, to include taking down multiple layers of wallpaper that had been painted over and after they were done the walls looked fantastic and we could not be happier. There staff was very nice and professional and provided a quality job for a very reasonable price."

Customers say: Terrific value

"FCL Painting did an excellent job. Felipe answered my emails when I had additional questions. His crew is hard working. I had walls and ceilings done and they look brand new. They showed up on time, cleaned everything at the end of each day and were just a pleasure to work with."

"I was shocked to find someone so skilled, punctual, reliable with reasonable rates on Cape Cod. I have lived on Cape Cod over forty years and had dozens of people work on my home. I can hardly wait to see how my house looks when he paints in in the spring."

Interior Painting questions, answered by experts

While not all homes built before 1978 contain lead paint, enough do, so you’ll still want to test to be on the safe side. The federal government banned lead-based paint for homes in 1978, but your state may have banned lead before that time. Around 24% of homes built between 1960 and 1977 contained lead-based paint, while 87% of homes built before 1940 contained lead-based paint.

Yes, you can pressure wash epoxy floors, but you must take precautions to avoid damaging the surface. While most epoxy floors can be cleaned with a mop, you might choose to pressure wash if the floor is stained, has ground-in dirt, or is covered with mold or mildew. To do so safely, first soak any stains or dirty areas with a gentle cleanser. Use a lower pressure setting with a gentle nozzle, such as a green, white, or black tip, or a 45-degree angled tip. Keep the spray nozzle at least 18 inches away from the floor to protect the surface. Using a surface cleaner attachment or a rotary scrubber can also help prevent overspray. Be cautious if using a power washer that heats the water, as the combination of heat and pressure may be too powerful and could damage the epoxy coating.

Yes, paint thinner can damage some surfaces. Specifically, it can cause a lot of damage to laminate flooring if applied incorrectly.

It’s best to use a slightly slower-working paint remover that is safer to use, such as mineral spirits, because the strongest spray paint removers are often also the most toxic. Many of these products contain dangerous chemicals, such as methylene chloride, which the EPA banned for most uses in April 2024 after it was established as a major carcinogen.

If your home was built before 1978, there’s a chance that any paint on your hardwood floors could be lead paint—especially if it was already there when you moved in. Because lead is toxic, hiring a licensed pro to remove it is mandatory. The average price for professional lead paint removal ranges from $1,500 to $5,300 and depends on the scope of the project.
