I've had the same drain cleared of a block twice in the past. Julio by far did the best job. He cleared the drain pipe right down to the basement. Before he left, he cleaned all the areas where he was working. If I could, I'd give him six stars. You won't find anyone better.

We called multiple plumbers. These guys agreed to come. Two guys came. It took hours of work, they had to remove a toilet and ultimately cut a drain pipe in the basement to find the clog. When they left the clog was fixed, the bathroom back together, and everything was clean.

Usually it’s fine to leave a toilet clogged overnight, as long as it’s not close to overflowing. In some cases, the extra time may give the clog time to work itself out. For example, if it’s caused by an excess of toilet paper, letting it sit could result in the clog dissolving and you may be able to simply flush it away by the time you wake up.

Only let it sit though if you have more than one toilet in the home.

There are a few ways to unclog a toilet without a plunger. Break up the clog with homemade solutions containing soap, vinegar, and baking soda, or simply let hot water spend some time in the drain. You can also use a two-liter soda bottle filled with water to push pressurized water into the pipe to dislodge the debris (see the steps above).

Bleach—even diluted bleach—is not always the safest option for cleaning your drains. With a high pH, bleach can be highly corrosive to many types of pipes, especially when used regularly. When mixed with household cleaners and organic waste, it can also create dangerous chemicals. Remember to use proper protective equipment and ventilation when dealing with bleach.

Simple blockages can be cleared using household plungers or manual snakes, provided no severe plumbing issues exist.

Clearing typically takes 1-2 hours, depending on the blockage size and location.
