"It went well. They are being professional in their follow-up as they are trying to have us install an expensive basement drainage/pumping system. We haven't decided yet, as it will be part of our basement gut/rehab project."

"Johnathan is a honest hard working man. He walked me through the whole process and delivered exactly what he promised and more! You just donâ t find customers service like this anymore. Itâ s been over a year since my basement drainage system has been installed and he has checked in on serval rain storms just to make sure everything was ok! He has even given my some pointers on things I can do around my home to further improve my drainage issues. He even called me back from his tropical vacation. He definitely goes above and beyond . I have had many contractors over the years and he is at the top of my list! I would highly recommend him!"

"Your company is outstanding and we are extremely happy. Our technician Garett was prompt and polite. He was very knowledgeable and explained things about our situation that we were totally unaware of. Potentially saving us time and money down the road. "We have been getting water in our basement since we moved here a couple years ago. This last time was the worst. Inner Boston came Take a look and figure out the issue. Were very quick to come in and give me a solid estimate. They walked me around the house showed me and explained in detail what the issue was and what needed to be done to ensure that we no longer got water in the basement. They saw that not so great weather was coming up so they came in and got the work done within just a couple days. I mostly spoke with Mark but all super nice and so great to deal with! Iâ m so glad that we chose them to do the job. Highly recommend!"

Small jobs welcome

"The whole experience was great, I appreciate that he showed up and di the work I hired him to do! You'd be surprised at the people I've hired to do something and they never completed the job-- Israel Aponte did everything I asked him to. He reshingled my shed, re-paired the damaged siding on it, made me a new door, and repainted it-- it looks as good as brand new. I also had him install a new door and replace some steps in my basement-- excellent job, I recommend him any day of the week. Many thanks."

Basement Waterproofing questions, answered by experts

Brick is designed to absorb moisture, but it is also designed to let it evaporate as well. So in general, the goal shouldn’t necessarily be keeping moisture out but making sure it has the room to breathe. If you have excess moisture getting through your brick wall, it’s more likely that you have a crack or other issue at play that a typical sealant won’t fix. So, instead of investing in sealant, try repairing your brick wall instead.

Crawl space encapsulation typically lasts between 10 to 20 years. If you experience a catastrophic event, like a flood, or poorly encapsulate your space with low-quality materials, it may only last a decade. Otherwise, as long as you properly maintain your crawl space, a high-quality encapsulation can last more than 20 years.

A sump pump can remove excess moisture from under a house if standing water is present. Other ways to protect your crawl space from moisture include installing a vapor barrier, using a dehumidifier, installing insulation, and using a fan to dry the space. Finally, keeping your gutters clear of debris and positioning your downspouts away from the home’s foundation can prevent moisture from getting into the crawl space in the first place.

Flooded basement cleanup can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks, depending on the extent of water damage, the type of water involved, and the need for repairs or mold remediation. Severe cases with structural damage or extensive mold may require longer timelines. Quick action and professional help can speed up the process and reduce overall damage.

Mold and other fungi love moisture, so the best way to prevent mold growth after water damage is to remove as much moisture as possible. First, find the source of the water or moisture, such as a leak or clogged gutters, and correct the problem. Next, remove standing water, vacuum up puddles with a shop vacuum, and run blower fans and dehumidifiers for 24 to 72 hours. Once you've removed all traces of moisture, disinfect the area using either vinegar or bleach to kill any remaining mold spores.
