"Based on other reviews, the work they do must be great. The gentleman that came to our house was also very friendly and courteous. My issue came down to the pricing, which ranged from $900 for the ?band aid? option to $2400 for the platinum option. Without anything to go off of in how fair the pricing is, I decided to not be pressured by the $99 fee they charged for the plumber to come out that would be included in the repairs if I decided to go with them. Instead I wanted to get multiple quotes to see the range of pricing options. These guys weren?t even on the high end, they were in another galaxy with prices. I got the entire problem area replaced by another large/professional company in the area for $500. Highly recommend shopping around and maybe going to these guys last so you don?t throw away $99 like I did."

It depends on your climate and landscaping needs. If your lawn is turning brown, that’s a sign it needs more water, so run your sprinkler for about 20 minutes. If your lawn is healthy or if it rained in the past day or two, run your sprinkler for 10 minutes. A general rule of thumb is to run your sprinklers every other day or every three days. Use your best judgment based on your lawn’s health and needs.

The 30/30 rule for drip irrigation is the guideline that a single watering zone should not exceed a run length of 30 feet and a flow rate of 30 gallons per hour. The guideline is for 1/4-inch tubing only. By staying within the 30/30 rule, you ensure consistent water flow and distribution. Some experts even recommend keeping runs under 20 feet long. 

You might, depending on where you live. Backflow preventers ensure that water only flows in a single direction so that the dirty water from your home and irrigation system doesn’t contaminate your fresh water supply. Many municipalities require you to have a backflow preventer if you have a sprinkler system. But even if you don’t legally need one, installing a backflow preventer can give you peace of mind that your dirty water isn’t mixing with your clean water supply.

When installing a sprinkler system, make sure that all of the sprinklers are at least 2 feet away from your house. If they’re closer than that, they might spray your foundation, walls, window wells, or other parts of your house, which could lead to water damage, flooding, or mold growth inside your home.

You can find irrigation lines whether you dig or not. If you decide to dig, do so near valve boxes and around sprinkler heads. Once you find the first pipe, you can map the system from there and use spray paint or tape to mark the pipe layout throughout.  

If you don’t feel like digging, aside from getting a map from the maker of the irrigation system, you can still find irrigation lines by locating the valve box and following a line back to the head sprinklers. You can also use a water-detection device or a metal detector, which will work if the lines have metal tracer wires.
