"This company was a very pleasant experience. Lawrence came out promptly and give a good price. A tree had blown over in a storm and was resting on my second floor balcony railing. Directly under the falling tree is a 10X6 foot plate glass window. Scary to most, but not Lawrence. He surveyed the situation, planned out his attack with his team and they successfully removed the tree. His team was knowledgeable, courteous and professional. They ground down the stump and clean up after the project was completed. Safety was Lawrenceâ s main concern and the project was completed without a problem. If your looking for fancy trucks with logos and graphics and embroidered shirts with the companyâ s name, look elsewhere. But if you are looking for a first rate job, safely done at a reasonable price, this is the guy. Five Stars for Lawrence and his team."

Excavating questions, answered by experts

Yes, chipmunk holes may have two or more entrances. Chipmunks can create an entire network of burrows. Having multiple entrances makes it easier for them when trying to escape from a predator, such as a snake, or if an entrance collapses due to flooding. Each entrance leads to the nesting chamber underground, which is where the chipmunk spends the majority of its time sleeping.

Call 811 to locate and mark the gas lines at least three days before digging. In many areas, you can dig within 18 inches of the lines, though in some locations, the distance may be further. Check local regulations, as you may need a utility company representative onsite when digging. Document your calls to 811 and precautions taken to avoid gas lines. A homeowner can be held liable for hitting a gas line in some cases, but contacting the proper authorities and following all guidelines can offer protection.

Because decomposed granite is a durable material, a crushed rock or gravel base is optional as long as the DG is properly installed and compacted. However, installing a base is a good idea because it will ensure proper drainage and stability and act as a weed suppressant (although you may still occasionally have to pull weeds). Installing an adequate base can also increase the durability of driveways and walkways. If you forego the paver base or gravel underneath, line the area with landscaping fabric to avoid weeds.

Consultation with the local government helps identify necessary permits, avoid project delays or legal issues, and protect project integrity.

The time it takes to build a pool—and dig out the area—varies based on the pool size and type. A professional excavator will take between four and eight hours to dig a pool. The process will take longer if they encounter large boulders or tree roots. Keep in mind that this is a small part of the process in the long run. You will need between eight and 12 weeks to build a pool from start to finish, including the time to apply for permits.
