"My home needed a lot of repairs - new interior ceiling with electrical light installed in one room, exterior door and storm door replaced and painted, tub recaulked, wall repaired, kitchen painted. Everything went great. The owner, Mr. Irving Mitchell, was on the job site every day and did a lot of the work in person, assisted by a skilled craftsman, Mr. Randy. Mr. Irving and Mr. Randy were very careful, paid a lot of attention to detail, worked very hard to make everything perfect, and the price was extremely reasonable for the work done. Plus, they're nice people. I had to be away from the house while the work was going on, so I trusted them with a key and left them to go in and out as they pleased, no problems resulted. If you can get On the Level Construction, LLC for any home repair job, this is who you should hire. Don't be concerned if they don't show up at 7 am like some crews do - Mr. Irving is the business owner and sometimes he has to go to the office to return phone calls before coming to the job site, this goes with having the owner on the job site in person. In my opinion, having the owner on the job site instead of just sending a crew is part of why the work is so high quality."

"We had a great experience with Allstate windows. Steve came out and met with us about the upgrades we wanted to do with our windows and siding. Steve answered all of our questions concerning the job. He was very knowledgeable in the products he was offering which made us feel comfortable, we received our quote by the next day decided to go with Allstate windows. The windows came in earlier than expected and the installation process was done in a timely matter by his crew. When the job was done they cleaned everything up and left the area very clean. Thanks again to Steve and his team at Allstate windows."

You can draw your own house plans using three-dimensional modeling software, but in most cases, you’ll need an architect to draw up the final plans. Architects understand local building regulations and requirements, so their plans will be necessary for getting permits approved, and they’ll also ensure your home is structurally sound. DIY house plans can be a good place to start to help visualize your project, but you should always defer to a professional before trying to proceed with the project.

Aging-in-place universal design features can make your home more comfortable for family members who are older or have disabilities; they can also make your home safer. In addition, adding a universal-design bathroom can boost your home’s overall resale value.

Hiring a contractor with knowledge about historic renovations and reviewing their previous work is important. You can find a historic home renovation contractor by calling your local historic preservation office, historical society, or any local historic museums nearby. The staff may have suggestions for specialized contractors who have worked for them. You can also ask them about historic home restorations that you have seen and liked in your area to get recommendations for pros.

Mediterranean architecture comes from traditional building styles of countries on the Mediterranean Sea mixed with French, Greek, and Moroccan influences. There are three main types of Mediterranean architecture: Italian Renaissance, Spanish Revival, and modern.

Some signature components of Mediterranean architecture include red terra cotta roofs, archways, stucco siding, and metal detailing on windows. These homes often have balconies and outdoor living areas.

You have three options in terms of professionals who can draw up blueprints: a draftsperson, an architect, or a structural engineer. A draftsperson can sometimes draw up plans for new construction, but they more often work from approved plans for alterations or to provide 3D drawings. Architects are usually the best option for standard residential construction projects. Structural engineers might be necessary for custom home builds or for alterations that could affect your home’s structural integrity. Draftsmen cost the least of the three, followed by architects and then structural engineers.
