"Anthony Dronet arrived at our house when he said he would. He talked to us for a long time and acted like we were his only customer. We discussed our needs vs our wants and he took notes and made recommendations. He scheduled a date for us to come to the store. Everyone was attentive to our needs and within an hour of arriving, we had selected our granite and backsplash, designed a new Island for Jonathan Dronet to build, and picked out our flooring. Once the flooring arrived, within three days, our Island was installed, new counter tops installed and flooring installed. Every installer was scheduled in coordination with others and everything went very smoothly. Some things we had purchased ourselves from other vendors caused a significant delay that Dronet's just adapted to. We couldn't be more pleased."

Some carpet tiles come with padding attached to the tile if you prefer a cushier walking experience. In some cases, you can use a compact underlayment beneath your tiles, but you would likely need help from a pro to accomplish this type of installation.

It’s a good idea to install a rug pad under the carpet for your stairs. To make the pad fit, you’ll need to cut one section for each stair tread that’s about one inch narrower than the stair runner so that it won’t be visible once the carpet is installed on top.

There are several types of flooring you can install over ceramic tile, including vinyl, laminate, engineered wood, carpet, and cork. Alternatively, you could install new tiles on top of your current ones if you enjoy having tile floors but don’t like the look of your existing tiles. However, before laying down new flooring, you’ll need to make sure that your tiles are in good condition. Otherwise, you’ll need to remove them first.

While you certainly can install new flooring yourself, it may not always be the best idea. Since the condition of the floors is a significant component of your property’s value, it’s important that your project looks professionally done. If not, you run the risk of needing to have them replaced again before selling your home. If you’re looking to save money on the cost of floor installation, consider removing the old flooring yourself to save on labor costs.
