"Great.  The first time he came to look at the job to see what needed to be done. He was on time and very knowledgeable about what needed to be done. He gave me some much needed advise on what kind of toilet to buy. He replaced in a timely and professional manner. I have plans to call him after the first of the year to replace my other one.  I found his prices very reasonable and found him to be very trustworthy. He tidied up everything, disposed of everything, left nothing undone . I would highly  recommend him to anyone with plumbing issues.

"Tim, the owner was friendly and he helped us initially pick out the colors. He told us there were roughly ten jobs ahead of us on the listing, and we were ok with that. His crew was nice and helped make the experience good overall. The only side note being that there was some confusion on fascia color which we had picked out. Even so, the issue was corrected and the painting and stain on the posts looks great.

"Honey Do did an excellent job. He removed the old 1950's metal unit and replaced it with a very nice modern kitchenette. His attention to detail was excellent and he went above and beyond to make sure the project was installed on a tight time table."

Install Garbage Disposal questions, answered by experts

Replacing a garbage disposal costs anywhere from $150 to $950, but the average cost is somewhere around $550. There are two types of garbage disposal units, and continuous feed disposals tend to cost more than batch feed disposals. Going for an aluminum garbage disposal is also significantly cheaper than choosing a stainless steel garbage disposal. You'll also need to factor in the horsepower of the motor, labor, and the removal and disposal of your old unit.

Your garbage disposal will only affect the health of your septic tank if you’re using it too frequently, or filling it with organic waste that doesn’t fully break down. If the tank fills up with too many solids, the bacteria won’t have enough time to consume it before more is added, which can lead to an overflow in the drain field. Your tank will need to be pumped more frequently with excessive or improper garbage disposal use.

Continuous feed garbage disposals are the favorite model for many homeowners for a reason. As opposed to batch feed models, add food scraps to the drain whenever the disposal is running. This variety is also typically less expensive, more convenient, and easier to clean.

To prevent drain clogs, perform regular maintenance and cleaning. Avoid disposing of substances like grease or coffee grounds down the sink. Additionally, installing and routinely using drain strainers can help catch debris and prevent blockages from forming.

The most common garbage disposal size in the U.S. is 1/2 horsepower. This size is ideal for households with three or fewer people or those that don't produce much food waste. Although 1/2 horsepower can't handle the typical food waste load for a household of four (which is about 250 pounds of food waste annually) as effectively as 3/4 horsepower, it remains the most common size of garbage disposal on the market.
