Army veteran, single father of 5, and a man who built this from real life experience, hard work, & a desire to serve people. Previously my work was ministry, helping others, and doing whatever work was needed to take care of my family and community. After becoming a single father, that calling naturally turned into a business built on service, integrity, and showing up when people need help.\n\nToday, M.U.S.E. Professional Services provides professional outdoor and property services throughout Minden and North Louisiana area. We specialize in tree work, stump grinding, brush clearing, storm cleanup, minor repairs, property maintenance, and general outdoor & interior solutions with years of hands-on experience in construction, repairs, and problem-solving.\n\nTreating people fairly, honestly, and quality work I can stand behind are daily principals. I know what it means to work hard for every dollar, and I bring that mindset to every project.\n

"The door had been kicked in by an employee trying to get access without a key.  Door was splintered and unable to be fixed. The doorframe was also an odd size so it required a special cut to be done. John worked with us to get the damaged door removed and measured to be taken to the location to have the new one specially cut since it was not a normal size.  He returned and replaced the door for us.  We were closing this location and the landlord was happy as were we with the job.

We have used John and Barco Electrical since 2012 for electrical and handyman type jobs at our locations in Shreveport.  Always pleasant on the phone, responsive and on time.  Gets the job done right.  A pleasure to work with."

Doors questions, answered by experts

You can use any wood to make an interior door, provided it’s the right thickness. Common options for painted doors include pine or poplar for the stiles, rails, and mullions, and paint-grade plywood for the panels. You can also opt to make your own panels out of pine or poplar if you intend on staining the door instead. Opting for oak, maple, or another hardwood is another great option for a high-end door that will last for decades, but the wood will cost significantly more.

Fire doors are more expensive than your run-of-the-mill residential composite door because of additional materials and expanding sealants that help the door slow down or even prevent the spread of temperatures over 1,000 degrees. If you have homeowners insurance, talk to your company and see if installing fire doors can lower your premiums, especially if you can install steel doors.

Costs range from $500 to $5,000, depending on door type, security features, and labor.

If your specific sliding glass door model is out of stock or no longer being built, it may still be best to contact the original manufacturer or installer. They can suggest a comparable replacement that is similar in size, avoiding more expensive repairs to retrofit a new door to an older opening.

On average, sliding glass patio doors can last between 20 and 30 years. Their actual lifespan depends on several factors, including proper installation, frequency of use, and regular maintenance of the sliding components. While this is the typical range, minor problems and the need for occasional repairs or part replacements can still occur. Addressing issues as soon as they arise and performing regular maintenance will help extend the door's life. If the door is older and requires frequent or significant repairs, it may be more cost-effective to replace the entire unit.
