"Contacted Sunlight Contractors about removing fiberglass insulation underneath my house and installing foam insulation. Ira answered his phone after business hours from home and gave me information. The crew showed up promptly to remove the insulation on Monday and returned on Tuesday to install the foam insulation. Crews were very polite and professional. All work was completed promised and area left clean. Will you again for insulation of our attic."

"Owner came out on a Saturday morning to give me a quote. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all of my questions. He was very knowledgeable and provided a COI on the spot. Price was very fair and he came out the next morning, Sunday to blow in the insulation. Did a really good thorough job, he did everything he said he would. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone who asks."

"It was so easy. The workers took out the old insulation on Saturday, and clean up/haul away of old insulation was excellent. Sunday morning the foam insulation was installed. It took about five hours. Again, everything was cleaned up. Very pleased with the quality of the work, character of the workers, as well as the owner. Would highly recommend."

"This was my first time using Angies List and hiring someone that I did not know. But these guys were fantastic. They did great work, at a reasonable price. And were fast to respond and get it done. Also, now that our dryer vent is clean, the dryer works much much better."

"This was a two part job. The first part was to spray the AC ducts under a mobile home. The second part was regular type insulation under the mobile home. We are very satisfied with both parts and can already see a difference in electric bill. We would recommend calling LHS Insulation for all your insulating needs. Jane and Henry C. From Gonzales, La"

Insulation FAQs, answered by experts

Insulation service projects in New Orleans can increase your home’s value and resale appeal, especially in older or historic areas. Energy-efficient upgrades attract buyers seeking lower utility bills and improved comfort. Documenting improvements with an energy audit and before-and-after photos helps highlight benefits. Quality insulation also enhances storm resilience and humidity control, making your property more desirable in the LA real estate market.

Helpful?

When planning insulation service projects in New Orleans, consider the city’s flood risk and hurricane exposure, especially if you live in a designated flood zone. Historic neighborhoods may require special permits and preservation of original features. The long cooling season and frequent storms make moisture-resistant insulation essential. Scheduling work outside hurricane season and exploring local rebates can also help ensure a smoother project.

Helpful?

In New Orleans, a frequent mistake during insulation service projects is failing to address the city’s high groundwater and humidity, which can lead to trapped moisture and mold. Homeowners sometimes pick insulation types not rated for humid climates or skip critical air sealing in attics and crawl spaces. Overlooking local building codes and historic home requirements can also cause issues, so always consult a local home insulation contractor.

Helpful?

Your New Orleans home is likely a strong candidate for insulation service projects if you notice persistent indoor humidity, uneven cooling, or drafty rooms. Homes built before 1980, those with raised foundations, or single-pane windows often benefit most. An energy audit revealing poor energy efficiency or visible signs of moisture and mold are also clear indicators that insulation upgrades could improve comfort and performance.

Helpful?

In New Orleans, be cautious of insulation service professionals who overlook moisture management, skip a thorough inspection, or don’t mention vapor barriers and ventilation. Unusually low quotes, vague estimates, or pressure to commit quickly are warning signs. A reputable home insulation contractor should provide a detailed assessment tailored to the local climate and offer references from other LA projects for peace of mind.
