"I had an large old shed torn down Sunday night. I called at 9 am Monday morning and by 11:30 am no one could even tell there was ever a gigantic trash pile. They hauled it off and cleaned up everything super fast!! I would definitely use them again!!"

"The guys were nice and gave me a reasonable price within the range that Andy gave me on the phone. My mattress, which is WAY heavy for me was easily handled by them. They have a brightly painted clean truck. Everything was professional. I would use them again if I have anything else to haul away."

Hauling questions, answered by experts

It’s not difficult to dispose of wood pellet ash, but you should always let it cool completely before disposal to avoid it sparking a fire. If you’ve got an energy-efficient pellet stove, there shouldn’t be much to empty from the ash box, anyway. However, once the ash has cooled, you might consider composting it or simply adding it to your garden or plant soil. The ash is full of minerals, not chemicals, so it’s a wonderful fertilizer for grass and plants.

Yes, a toilet is considered construction debris or construction waste by definition in many states. Toilets are bulky, heavy items that generally cannot be thrown out with regular household trash, and many waste management providers will not pick up a toilet unless it’s part of a scheduled bulk trash pickup service.

In short, yes, contractors should clean up any debris, materials, and tools left from their projects. However, whether their services include a deep clean often depends on the contract. Most homeowners will hire an additional cleaner after construction for a thorough pass through the house to ensure the space is safe and as clean from construction dust as possible.

Disposing of old paint, bleach, oil, and fertilizer should be handled by a company that specializes in this kind of waste. Many private junk removal companies do not dispose of these items. Because these materials are hazardous to the environment and dangerous to handle or dispose of improperly, you should confirm with your local municipality about places to take hazardous materials for safe disposal.

One of the best ways to reduce packaging waste is to purchase materials that are made using recycled materials. While these don’t eliminate waste, they do help provide uses for old packaging materials and prevent the need to collect more raw ingredients for continued manufacturing. Recycling those same products helps complete the cycle and reduces the need for new materials in the supply chain. You can also upcycle some packing materials, like cardboard and plastic, for use in crafts and organizational tools.
