"First off I would like to say it's fine to talk a good story and make yourself look like you are the best But you have to back that up. I don't think this is outfit a good value for the money spent because . First off they are charging a $75 an hour rate I was expecting Casey to first come out and look at the job as he said he would. He called instead with an excuse . The second day the day of the job . I expected him to come out at 10am his crew arrived at 8am like he said before but he showed up late in the afternoon saying that it was his daughter's birthday . He knew that when he told me he would come to begin with. Secondly he sent a good installer but with a helper which was his son who stayed on the phone arguing with his girlfriend telling that he had a date to go on. Now I dont know about you but $75/ hr is good money and I expected him to finish as he bragged he could do . Well he was fixing the previous installers mess up but I at least expected them to finish today which again he offered excuses at least he could have came out today himself of that is what the job required . I hired yet the 3rd installer today but I have spent alot more than this job is worth and I still dont have my cameras installed . He expects his workers to make agreements with the customers and I expect for a contractor to be responsible for a job at the rate of $75 / hour not only did he not have the materials as he told me the day before that they were loading a truck for a worst case scenario and they would have everything on his truck the crew arrived and they needed materials . This was not their fault but his for not showing up the day before. Now he did knock 30 mins time off like he was doing me a favor but they didnt go to Lowes and shop in 30 mins. As well he told me on the phone he would check put my system and show me exactly what it would do and not do . He didn't do that either instead he sent me the phone number to Lorex and told me I could get a book there . I think this is just a sideline for him and they treat it as such . If I had known he was just doing this on the side I would not have hired him for this job and definitely not at prime rate. I paid $650 labor for a day and I bought 300 worth of materials to finish the job. People need to know this installer does this on the side it isn't his or his installers primary occupation and you can expect delays if you use these people . As well paying prime rate will not get you prime service as his son was able to complain about having a date till his father came out here and had them to knock off after his installer had already told me he could stay till it is done . Now if they couldnt fulfill that Casey should have stepped up and did it himself for what he charges . At least he could have come today and finished . Almost a thousand spent and still job incomplete I have excises but no completion . To me not a good value . If this were my outfit I would have made it good period. They site their reviews here as a justification for their rates but this is my opinion I do not reccomend this outfit either you are only as good as what you prove and people cant be laying out this kind of money and getting excuses and I'm sorry that just doesn't cut it. He is a nice man but I'm not paying for nice ,excuses or crying helpers I want a professional that performs that is what makes someone worth the money. I still played him but I'm not satisfied. My advice for anyone is to get a contract from anyone put it in writing what the job entails and rates e expected and hold them accountable to get things done like they promise . And always ask is this a sideline or your main bread winner. And expect anyone's licensing and ask exactly who will be on the job and specify what you are payin..."

Fencing questions, answered by experts

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly fence material, corrugated metal could be the answer. Metal fences cost about $7 to $32 per foot. Aluminum corrugated metal tends to be less expensive than steel. Both options are similar in cost to wood, so, depending on the type of wood you are considering, corrugated metal could be better for your budget.

Since wood is weaker when installed horizontally versus vertically, a horizontal fence is prone to sagging. You can prevent this drooping from happening by building a sturdier fence. Use softwoods that are more stable, such as cedar and redwood, or denser hardwoods for your fence materials. If you can’t afford these pricey materials, use thicker two-by-six pressure-treated pine boards or shorten the span the fence boards have to cover by installing more posts.

Do you need a permit to build a fence if you are simply replacing an existing fence? Whether you need a permit in this case depends on your local laws and regulations. Most municipalities consider a fence replacement project as being equal to building a new fence, so you likely will need a permit. Check with your local building inspection department or zoning department to see if you need a permit. If you hire a local fence contractor, this pro can take care of obtaining all permits for you.

Posts for a horizontal fence should be no more than 6 feet apart. Wood pickets are not as strong when mounted horizontally as when mounted vertically. As such, the fence panels on a horizontal fence can’t cover the same span between posts as a vertical fence can. If you install the posts further apart on a horizontal fence, the fence will lose stability, making the boards more likely to sag.

If the fence is on one neighbor’s property, that person is responsible for repairs, regardless of who benefits from the fence more. The other neighbor must keep trees and other obstacles from crossing the property line and affecting the fence. If the fence is directly on the property line, though, who owns a shared fence? Many states have laws that address this issue. Typically, the two property owners would share responsibilities and costs for fence maintenance and repair. You may need a property line survey to precisely determine ownership and responsibility.
