"At first Mr. Galan seemed like he would take care of my 83 yr. old mom. She wanted a very long awaited bathroom to be added to her home off of her bedroom. I live in Tx. and am her daughter and handle her affairs. I asked him from day 1 to run everything by me before doing anything. Mom has memory issues and would say yes to anything Jose' said. Even if it were wrong or not. First off, he refused to get a permit to add on this room. I knew this could be a bad idea. They went ahead anyway. His estimate seemed a vague at best. There was no contract even thought he called his hand sketched itemization one. I had to draw the sketch of the bathroom that she wanted bc he had not done so. He used a used toilet that was tiny and not what me and her picked out, he used tile he had and not that her an I picked out. He also tried to use some ugly medicine cabinet mirrors and ugly lights! NONE of which we had picked out. He did a total bait and switch on her and took full advantage of an 83 yo."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

The average life of an aboveground pool varies from 7 to 15 years. Quality and maintenance are the biggest factors determining an aboveground pool’s lifespan. While a soft vinyl inflatable aboveground pool may only last five or six seasons, resin and steel pools can last for 20 years or more with proper maintenance.

Concrete pools have the longest life span. As long as you properly maintain your concrete pool, you can expect it to last 50 to 100 years. That said, you will need to resurface your concrete pool as it ages. Fiberglass is durable, but fiberglass pools generally only last around 25 to 30 years. That said, some high-end fiberglass pools can last more than 50 years if they’re well-maintained.

Round and freeform pools are popular choices for a small backyard, although a small yard may be able to accommodate a variety of shapes. When planning a pool for your small yard, remember to take into account pool deck space, fencing requirements, and other pool-related factors that may limit your choices.

If you don’t bond a pool, you risk electric shock for those walking around or swimming. Bonding creates safe pathways between the electricity needed to run the pool and metallic parts also necessary for the proper function of the pool. Once the pool is bonded, it’s ready for grounding, the second step in creating an electrically safe pool.

The average 12-by-24-foot in-ground pool costs $48,500, but depending on the features and materials, prices can trend even higher. You’ll spend less on a rectangular vinyl or fiberglass pool than on a concrete pool in an elevated style (think infinity pool or lagoon pool). Added features like heating, lighting, diving boards, or decking will increase your overall cost.
