You can also use mild dish soap diluted with warm water or a degreaser (such as Simple Green or Goof Off) diluted with warm water. Some soap-based cleaners can leave a haze. If you notice this, further dilute the mixture with water or use a different detergent that does not leave a film. You should never use harsh cleaning chemicals, any type of acidic compound (such as vinegar or citrus-based cleansers), or harsh scrubbers like steel wool or hard bristle brushes.

For both wood and concrete subfloors, consider sanding to remove any debris or adhesives remaining thoroughly. 

If you’re doing regular cleaning—like vacuuming and mopping—once every two weeks, then call in a professional floor cleaner about twice per year to complete a deep clean. A deep clean service includes cleaning the grout between tiles, removing stains from carpets, and addressing water spots or other discoloration on wood floors. You may want to consider getting your floors professionally cleaned more often if you have children or pets that leave messes. In those cases, once per quarter or even more frequently is probably a better option.
