"In August 2023, I had a slab leak. Mr. Terry from American Plumbing came and did a leak detection. It was a cold water line slab leak and I had to get 1 cold water line rerouted.. Fast forward to January 2024, some tiles in my floor felt warm to touch which I knew had something to do with pipes. I called Mr. Terry from American Plumbing and he came out that following Monday and performed a leak detection. It was a hot water slab leak from 2 lines. This time, Seth and Logan came out the very next day to reroute 2 hot water lines. One to the washer and one to the kitchen sink. These two guys are so awesome. Again, very knowledgeable and answered every question I had without hesitation and without getting annoyed. This company is top tier. From the initial phone call with Chelsie (both times) to Mr. Terry coming out, to Seth and Logan performing the repairs. I recommend this company everytime."

"Ryan was awesome, and I will totally refer him to friends and family! Our pipe broke outside, and it was spraying water everywhere. Our yard was flooding, and we had to shut the water off. I googled for pipe repair, and it was after 6:00 pm on a Friday. When I initially called Ryan, I had not shared that we had to cut the water off, and he had advised that he could come in the morning. But when I told him we had to shut the water off, he said okay and headed right over even though he had wrapped up for the day. He not only fixed the issue, but he was thorough in waiting to test his work and ensure his fix worked. He then went on to show us how to turn the water off easier for the next time. He had a great personality and attitude and was very knowledgeable and effective. Other companies had quoted days later despite knowing we had to turn the water off. Ryan's compassion was really appreciated. I would Highly recommend Ryan with "Plumb Crazy" company. ð   He turned what could have been a VERY bad weekend into a happy result."

"Jared Pourciau is tenacious and skilled. He came out on a Sunday before Labor Day and worked thru the rain and heat to try and resolve my clogged drain. Ultimately, due to it being Sunday and not being able to rent the needed equipment, he was unable to remove the clog. Jared did the absolute best he could with the equipment on-hand. Going above and beyond, he re-configured the drain under my kitchen sink and properly connected my garbage disposal as it had been done incorrectly when fist installed. I would definitely recommend his services to anyone in need of an all around handy-man."

"My water stopped getting hot on a Friday night. At that point, I go into panic mode because I have to have hot water. I wake up Saturday morning, thinking what am I going to do. It’s the weekend and everyone will charge an arm and a leg since it’s after hours. I start calling around to a the numbers I could find and get no answer. I had one last number to tell and yep, it was C & B Plumbing Inc. They answer and I tell them the issue. This was around 7:00am. They then ask, are you available to meet around noon? I’m like today around noon…lol. They say yes. As promised, right before noon they were at the door. They took their time to explain the issue and we actually talked and laughed about other things. They got the job done in no time at a reasonable cost. I would definitely recommend me them and use them again!!!"

"Not good. The water leaks had caused black mold that had to be repaired. When repairs were completed 3 months later, the valves still leaked from the stem when turned on. It was past 60 days so I had to pay another $100 service fee to have the water leaks fixed. He tightened the packing and quoted $350 to replace the valves. Sheesh."

Water Softeners questions, answered by experts

Water softeners have many benefits. The most important one is converting previously hard water—water with too many minerals—to more usable, easier water. When we say easier water, we mean water that’s easier to digest, less harsh on skin and clothes, and builds up less in the water system. Softer water may lead to lower energy costs and will extend the lifespan of all appliances that use water.

Hard water stains can be a headache because they will reoccur as long as hard water flows through. Thankfully, hard water stains are not permanent. With the right tools and an appropriate cleaning routine, you can prevent hard water stains from ever building up. However, you might feel like you are stuck in a constant cleaning cycle. In that case, you may consider hiring a contractor to perform routine cleaning.

Hard water doesn’t hurt, but it might feel more abrasive, especially if you have sensitive skin. It’s also about how your skin feels after bathing. You might feel as though you have a sticky film over your body because you do—it’s all that soapy residue left behind because the hard water can’t rinse it off completely.

It depends on the type of surface. For instance, if you’re trying to get rid of hard water deposits on glass, you can spray vinegar onto the surface and wipe it off with a soft cloth or non-abrasive sponge. However, if the deposits are on granite or natural stone, it’s better to use baking soda and water rather than vinegar or other acidic cleaners.

The most effective way to fix hard water in your shower is by installing a whole-home water softening system. This system treats water as it enters your home, removing the minerals that cause hardness before they can reach your shower or any other fixtures. While this is the most comprehensive solution, other methods are often temporary fixes. For a more affordable and shower-specific option, you can install a water-softening showerhead or a shower filter. However, these filters are generally less effective and may not remove all the contaminants that lead to limescale and hard water stains. By implementing a water softening solution, you can expect a reduction in mineral deposits and enjoy the benefits of cleaner-feeling hair and skin.
