"Tech was able to tell me what the error code meant but did not want me to order part until testing with volt meter. Diag appointment with volt meter did not cost extra. Tech gave me part numbers and it fixed the problem."

"We were in a situation where were moving, had two house payments and an upcoming wedding, when we had a mold test come back positive in the basement of the house we were attempting to sell during the inspection process. And to top it off, while we were rushing around moving things, and meeting contractors at the house to go over the inspection list items, my fiance mom had a sudden medical emergency that required us to be in the hospital every night by her side. Everything seemed to be coming to ahead. We were thinking about cancelling the wedding because of the stress and expense and the costs that two other remediation companies quoted us, but Martin from Advanced Restoration and Waterproofing came and looked at the basement, and, after hearing of our predicament, actually recommended someone who works on real estate transactions specifically, who he thought could help us navigate the process by providing written reports we could use to negotiate with the buyer. So, rather than having to perform an expensive total basement remediation, we came to an agreement with the buyer that saved us money and kept our home sale on track. The two other companies that had looked at it prior threw 5 to 7 grand figures at us, using our fear and our inexperience against us, so we more than appreciated Martins honesty and his advice. If we ever have a need to have moisture or restoration services performed, I will go back to Advanced Restoration and Waterproofing every time. Give Martin a call, because I know that they will do just what is needed. They actually care, which is the way the world should work. Thanks Martin."

"not to good :( I felt I did most of the work by providing all the details floor plans and colors.  What I got back was only two floor plans and some websites to purchase living room deco and some paint samples. Not enough for the money I paid. It also took a month or so before I received these things too.

"Dillon gave a fair price for storm damage to an old structure. He was upfront with schedule and updated with delays. Final result was very satisfactory. All workers were professional. I will contact Stefaniak for future construction needs. So happy with results!"

"Potter House Group managed all aspects of the restoration and dealt with the insurance adjuster and ourselves as needed.  They arrived on time each morning and completed the job far ahead of schedule.

As I write this, six months later, I really can't think of a single issue that wasn't resolved to our complete satisfaction. The areas in the cottage that had been damaged are now in much better condition than they had been, even before the incident."

Percolation Tests questions, answered by experts

Asbestos is a carcinogen, meaning it increases the risk of cancer. Inhaling asbestos fibers is linked to several respiratory issues, including asbestosis, or scarring on the lungs, lung cancer, and mesothelioma, another type of cancer. There's also a link between asbestos exposure and an increased risk of colon cancer and other cancers of the digestive system.

Usually, the people most at risk for disease related to asbestos exposure are those who spend a lot of time working around the material without protection. Electricians who work with asbestos wire have a higher risk of developing mesothelioma or lung cancer due to their exposure.

Since the EPA partially banned asbestos in 1989, it is no longer used to manufacture new siding in the United States; production had largely ceased by the early 1980s. Many other countries, such as Canada, Iceland, and Denmark, also have bans on asbestos. However, asbestos siding is still present in many homes built before the late 1980s. The only definitive way to know if your siding contains asbestos is to have it professionally lab-tested.

No, not all popcorn ceilings have asbestos, but a vast majority do. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) banned its use in 1973, although it still may have been used up through the early ‘90s. But, in general, homes built or remodeled before the early ‘80s likely utilized materials with asbestos. That being said, a professional test is the only way to determine for sure.

Many homeowners may never have to test their homes for asbestos. Asbestos particles are only dangerous if they become airborne. If you plan to do construction or notice damage to piping, siding, or drywall, you should hire a specialist to test for asbestos.

If you plan to remodel your home or have any concerns, you should have your home tested for asbestos just to be safe.

Unlike some home problems, such as water damage or pest infestations, asbestos can be very difficult to spot. Asbestos is a mineral in the form of microscopic fibers and was previously used in building materials for its bonding and fireproofing abilities. Insulation, roof shingles, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, pipe wrappings, soundproofing materials, and textured paint features like popcorn ceilings are common sources of asbestos, particularly in homes built before 1980.

Age is perhaps the biggest indicator of asbestos, as legislation passed in the 1970s labeled asbestos as dangerous and regulated its use in building materials. Signs of age in the form of wear and tear or material degradation are also indicators that asbestos fibers may be leaking into the air, but ultimately, it’s difficult to detect with the naked eye. If you have reason to suspect asbestos in your home, it’s best to hire a certified asbestos inspector.
