"A&R helped us get through our insurance claim, in a timely and very helpful manner. The girls working in the office called to remind me of all appointments, sent me every email that I needed for both myself, and the Insurance Company, and were so easy to get a hold of whenever we needed them. Our roof looks amazing, and so does the drywall in our kitchen that they replaced (a giant hole!), that you cant even tell we had to have work done. They left our home clean, and they were so respectful every time they were working on the house. I cannot recommend this company enough. We are so impressed, and pleased after having worked with them!"

"These guys were amazing. The pressure wash made my vinyl siding look brand new. They also made sure that all siding was in good shape and advised me on things I didn't know about. They moved things that were blocking their way and put it all back in place when they finished. I would definitely use them again and highly recommend them."

"It all could not have work out better. We had a problem with a seam at the top of our living room ceiling that ran down about twelve feet. The guys did a great job in repairing and strengthening the area that was giving us problems. They also repaired the area of the textured ceiling by hand . It came real close to what we had. The paint job was done in a very professional way and turned out looking great. I bought a floor sample ceiling fan and they said that they could take down the old one and install the new one. That was a lot of work because they had to put it up and take it down three times. It was not their fault it was mine for buying something that gave extra unforeseen problems. You couldn't ask for a more friendly and professional people that really care about what they are doing and their work shows for it. I usually do my own repairs but this is one of those that I said you better get someone else. AND BOY AM I GLAD I CALLED " DIMMETT'S HOME REPAIR SERVICE ".

"Both teams were good and professional.  Anytime I called they were pretty responsive.  The first batch was defective as the tabs would not seal. The costs were as expected with no surprises.  The work comes with a 2-year labor warranty and the shingles come with a 25-year warranty.  Working with Ron was a good experience.  The clean-up by the teams was pretty good."

Siding questions, answered by experts

Yes, siding orientation can affect a home’s resale value, but in what way and by how much really depends on the prospective buyer. For instance, some buyers prefer the more modern appearance that vertical siding offers, so having it can increase your home’s value in their eyes. However, other buyers prefer the classic, more common appearance of horizontal siding, so having vertical siding can decrease your home’s value in their eyes.

Homeowners insurance may cover the cost of siding repair or replacement, but coverage depends on the cause of the damage. Most policies will cover damage from a covered event, such as a storm, wind, hail, fire, natural disaster, or other impact damage. Your policy might pay for the full or partial cost of the repair or replacement. However, damage resulting from age, general wear and tear, or neglect is typically not covered, and you should expect to pay for those repairs out of pocket. It is best to review your specific homeowners insurance policy for full details on what is covered, how to file a claim, and what documentation is required.

The cost to install or replace brick or stone siding generally ranges from $10 to $50 per square foot. The final price depends on several factors, including the specific material type, local labor rates, and any necessary preparation work, such as removing old siding. For example, different types of stone have varying costs per square foot: natural stone ($4.50–$35), stone veneer ($11–$13), faux stone ($6–$9), and cultured or manufactured stone ($5–$8).

The best types of siding to withstand hail are fiber cement siding and engineered wood siding. Fiber cement siding is known for impact resistance, while some brands of engineered wood siding can withstand hail as big as 1 and 3/4 inches with no marks. Vinyl and aluminum siding are the most susceptible to hail.

Some homeowners use caulk on the edges of clapboard siding to help seal it. However, this method invites new problems. With so many gaps sealed, clapboard siding is often unable to drain properly and moisture from rain or other sources can build up inside. This can lead to rot and other issues over time. When repairing clapboards, it’s best to avoid caulking the final product. The exception is trim around windows and doors, which should be caulked to avoid moisture problems.
