"I only use James when I need some work done to my house. He responds fast, gets the work done quicker than just about anyone else I've ever used and seems very concerned with leaving his customers happy."

"I can't tell you how great these guys are. They can do anything. So far they have repaired door frames, installed kitchen cabinets, drywalled ceilings and walls, installed ceiling fans sink and shelving, painted, dealt with electrical and plumbing problems. And I plan to have them do much more. The are on time, work fast, and keep me informed. They are very knowledgeable and offer money saving solutions without cutting corners. And Mr Garrett and his assistant Tracy are very nice men. You can trust these guys and count on excellent work. Top rating!"

Fencing questions, answered by experts

It provides security, durability, and low-maintenance protection for commercial properties.

Yes, like other types of wood fencing, pressure-treated fence boards can warp. However, there are a few things you can do to reduce the likelihood of your fence warping. Sealing or staining your fence every few years, for example, can protect the wood against moisture, sun exposure, and temperature changes.

Traditional bamboo fences use twine to attach pickets to posts and stringers, but you have to keep an eye on the twine, as it will deteriorate over time. Alternatively, you can fasten bamboo pickets to framing using fence screws.

A metal fence can last for over 30 years if maintained correctly, though the exact lifespan varies by material. For instance, chain-link and aluminum fences can function well for 25 to 30 years, while corrugated metal fences may last up to 60 years with regular maintenance. The lifespan can be shortened by harsh weather, abuse, or lower-quality materials. Galvanized metal tends to last longer due to its protective barrier, whereas sheet and corrugated metal may rust faster than solid pieces.

In most cases, you will need a building permit to put up a vinyl fence, especially if the fence is sitting on or close to your property line. You can ask your local building department or  fence installation company if your fence project will require a permit. If so, you can expect it to cost between $20 and $60. Your fence installer should pull the permit for you. Building without a permit could eventually require you to pay again to remove the fence and reinstall it after getting the job approved.
