He performed a thorough inspection on what was causing the water to sit in the crawlspace and went over what would be required to keep the moisture and water from affecting the structural integrity of the house. While we did not end up purchasing the home, we greatly appreciated his willingness to come down and do an inspection and give us an estimate. They were recommended by my stepdad who had them do a crawlspace encapsulation on his house. He said they perform first class workmanship and were professional. The salesman came to my house, explained everything in detail and the estimate was FREE! I had gotten estimates from a couple other companies and Alltek was by far the cheapest. They were able to start my job within weeks of the estimate.and when the workers showed up they were very friendly and prompt. "Alford had waterproofed my basement 2 years ago & I've been very pleased with that project. This time, a mouse had gotten in thru an open garage door when weather started getting cold, and had found a hole in a cinder block wall and had babies! I had already trapped and killed 5 before calling Alford. "For the second time we are so pleased with our recent contract with Potter House Group.  Our first experience with Potter House Group was a new build construction project.  They found us a lot and built us a custom home about 9 years ago.  Since then we relocated into a 115 year old home and we hired them for our kitchen remodel.  First we did our research, and we sought bids from several contractors.  Potter House Group once again had a competitive quote, that we felt had all the "bases" and potential "surprises" covered.  We also felt that the allowances that were allotted in our estimate allowed us to select quality selections for the fixtures, granite, cabinetry & flooring.  What impressed us the most is that once again we worked directly with the owner, Lee, for the duration of the project.  From the very beginning, Lee was professional, honest, and extremely efficient with our time.  Our kitchen was completely gutted down to the bare studs, removing of walls, flooring, electric, and a back staircase.  When you are without the hub of your home-the kitchen-meeting timelines is very important.   They met all timelines and brought in the necessary resources and tradesmen to perform various scopes of work.  All the inspections that were needed went well too.  Lee addressed any questions or concerns we had during the process responsively.  Without a doubt, Potter House Group will be the contactor we use for the next job.  We are already dreaming of our next project, a master bath addition.  Can?t wait!  Potter House Group is highly recommended!!!

"We had bought a house several years ago and within a few months of owning the house our basement leaked water.  After several years of litigation and numerous episodes of the basement leaking we started looking for a contractor to fix the basement problem.  After getting estimates from a half a dozen companies, we decided that we were going to use Alternative Building Concepts, Inc.  I will say there estimate was a bit higher than the other ones, but you get what you pay for.  Due to us being in a law suit at the time of the construction, I wanted a company that was professional and a company that was going to document the damage and their work.  I further wanted a company that would be competent to testify in court if needed.  They were all of above and more.  We could not have asked for a more professional group of guys.  Mr. Blankenship explained to us all the work that was going to be performed and provided us with a written estimates for each phase of the process.  The price of the work quoted never changed.



When they started the work inside the basement it was amazing how neat they were, which was a concern of ours (especially drywall work).  Once the outside work started it took longer than anticipated due to the weather (rain and lots of it), but the work was completed in a professional manner and throughout the process Mr. Blankenship kept us up to date with the process and any issues that arose.  Once the work was completed everything was put back together neatly.  After the work was completed several small issues arose and each time I called Mr. Blankenship, someone was there to fix it the same day.  I would highly recommend Alternative Building Concepts, Inc. for any project.

"AHS is ok. They cover repairs of most everything under the roof of your house. The companies that contract with them are not always the best. You call AHS with the issue, they send a fax to the repair company and give you the contact info. If they don't contact you within 24 hours, you call them. Sometimes they answer, sometimes they don't. When they arrive (usually three days or so later), they service the item. if it has issues within the 90 days, you call AHS again, they are sent out with no charge. If the serviceman decides the unit is unrepairable, AHS will allow you to choose a replacement from their listing (usually not as good as what you have) they will install and remove your old item, or give you wholesale amount to buy and install your own. Prices vary on what you want covered and what you want the copay to be, plus where you live. For me it is 49.99 per month with a 75.00 time of service order. You can have more than one item serviced at the same time under the same fee. If you have a SEAR product the repair guys are great. Not that wild about the other ones they send out. But it is a big savings compared to calling someone on your own. The cost of service is only the 75.00 copay."
