Tom Drexler Plumbing, Air & Electric was founded in 1982 by 4th generation Master Plumber, Tom Drexler. We are now one the area's largest home service provider. We offer plumbing, heating and cooling, indoor air quality, electrical, and other home services. Our highly qualified & expertly trained employees can help with any home repair services you may need.

"I typically do not leave reviews, but my experience with Tom Drexler Plumbing was so poor that I feel compelled to share it in hopes of preventing others from wasting their time and money. I initially contacted the company to address a leaking faucet in a spare bathroom. I was given a vague appointment window of 8 AM to 5 PM and informed that if I didn’t answer a call prior to their arrival, the technician would not show up. When the technician arrived, he spent time criticizing the company’s hiring practices rather than focusing on the repair. He determined that a full tub and shower replacement was needed, quoting over $1,000. The work could not be done the same day, requiring me to schedule another appointment. The technician arrived late and took the entire day to complete the job, spending a significant portion of time sitting on my staircase visibly exhausted. The installation was subpar—both the faucet and showerhead were protruding nearly two inches from the wall, and the showerhead was visibly crooked. The faucet and showerhead were protruding so far out they couldn't even be caulked. My wife documented the issues with photos. She sent them to me after the tech left. I immediately called Tom Drexler, informed them of the subpar work, and requested a different technician to correct the poor workmanship. A new technician arrived the following week and made the necessary adjustments. However, within four days of using the shower, a leak developed in the ceiling of the kitchen below, and our toilet began leaking from the base when flushed—suggesting possible plumbing pressure or blockage issues. I contacted the company again and scheduled yet another appointment. Despite being given the same 8 AM to 5 PM time frame, no one showed up, and I had to follow up myself to learn the technician wasn’t coming. Eventually, another technician did visit and claimed the ceiling leak was due to "residual water" and dismissed the toilet issue. When the ceiling stain continued to grow, I called again and requested a supervisor. The supervisor came a week later, concluded that the issue wasn’t related to their work, and left without offering any solutions. Altogether, I had to take four days off work to accommodate this series of visits. I now need to hire another plumber from a different company to resolve the ongoing leak. Based on my experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend Tom Drexler Plumbing. The quality of work, communication, and overall customer service were consistently poor throughout the entire process."

"My experience with LexRooter was excellent. I highly recommend them. I give them the highest rating for the work they did for me. I have owned my home for more than 38 years. Never have a had a sewage back up before. It was coming up through the finished basement floor drain pouring all over the floor. At a time like that a person feels rather helpless. I phoned LexRooter and the dispatcher was warm and professional. Music to my ears, she said a technician would arrive in less than 30 mins. Markiss arrived shortly after I hung up the phone. He listen carefully to the things that I had done in an attempt to unclog the mainline. Immediately he went to his truck and brought in a high-powered snake to snake the basement drain back to the easement at the back of my property . When this snake wasn’t successfully clearing the blockage, he quickly contacted his supervisor. I appreciated this so much because not only was he working with integrity himself, he had the humility to know when he needed to ask for help wasting no time!! I consider that to be a very very valuable resource in any technician. Daniel, his supervisor arrived. I believe he said he has worked for the company for eight years. I appreciated his experience and skill. Daniel impressed me immediately. He was very respectful and yet confident in his own ability to address the problem. He listened to everything I had to say and everything the other technician had to say, and then he moved forward from his experience to do the exact things needed to fix the problem and fix it quickly He explained to me that he needed to use a snake that was a larger gauge which he had in his truck and he told me that the right thing to do was to create a clean out. My house was constructed a long time before and it didn’t have a clean out in the yard and it didn’t have any kind of clean out in the house. He quickly constructed a clean out at very minimal cost that accommodated the larger higher powered snake, which in short order resulted in one of the most wonderful sights a person could have when their house is flooding with sewage -suddenly the basement drain happily started to swallow up, sewage draining very very quickly. Now not only do I have the mainline drain clear and functional, I finally have an easy access clean out. Yay!! The company is very lucky to have Daniel working for them. I feel confident that in every job he has a hand in, not only will the problem be solved, it will be done fairly and as inexpensively as is reasonable. Daniel will leave his customers eager to use LexRooter again if need arises. Markiss and Daniel worked together efficiently. The speed and quality of the work turned a nightmare experience into one that left me with a lot of gratitude in my heart. The bill was also extremely fair."

"It went very well! Tim came to the apartment and looked at the issue. He told me that he will place the order for the new and more efficient unit than the old boiler and install asap. Tim's crew came the following Monday to demolish the old boiler and installed the new boiler on the same day. The new boiler was up and running on the same day. It was a smooth startup!"

"My experience was Terrible! Owner called me 1 year After work completed and said I didn’t pay my bill (which I had already). Mentioned this to a friend and she said Zach Gammon pulled the same double-billing scheme on her! Incompetent employees , shoddy work, left tools on job site. Charged me $1,000+ to dig a new water line 10 feet one winter. Use at your own risk!"

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

The best drain cleaners are biodegradable ones or a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. Strong, caustic chemicals may seem appealing with promises of unclogging your drain quickly, but liquid drain cleaners can cause damage to your pipes over time. Consider making your own drain cleaner with baking soda and vinegar.

Snaking a toilet is similar to clearing sinks and bathtubs, but there are unique circumstances where you’d have to drain, disassemble, and remove the toilet to fix the clog. For stubborn clogs in the toilet trap, a toilet auger—designed with a shorter cable and a protective plastic encasing—can navigate the tight bends and clear the clog without risking damage to the porcelain.

Common drain issues include slow-running drains, whether in a sink or shower, clogged drains, a bad smell, and water backing up into a sink, shower, or bathtub. Causes range from hair, grease, roots, or toilet paper clogging the drainpipes to flooding outside the home, which prevents sewer lines from draining properly.

Outdoor plumbing issues are no less serious or urgent to fix than interior plumbing problems. These problems may require excavation and lawn repair due to the plumbing often being buried underground. The most common outside plumbing problems include:

  • Clogged landscape drainage: $200–$1,000

  • Clogged sewer lines: $60–$250 per linear foot

  • Corroded or rusted pipes: $1,500–$15,000+

  • Leaking drain lines: $200–$1,000

  • Leaking water mains: $300–$4,000+

  • Septic system failure: $600–$3,000+

  • Tree roots in pipes: $200–$1,000

  • Well pump failure: $350–$1,500

To get rid of a sewer smell in your crawl space, you’ll have to find the source of the problem. If it has to do with your sewer lines, then repairing the line will help. You may need to make other repairs, like fixing your sump pump or encapsulating your crawl space to reduce moisture. After you make the repair, depending on the issue, you may still need to clean out your crawl space to get rid of the stink.
