"Complete Concrete did a great job on excavating land and extending our driveway for a basketball court. We had to work around the weather, but they were able to get the job done."

"They were great! We had our driveway and retaining walls extracted, replaced and extended. Jared (owner of JKC) worked with us and was open to any ideas we had. We actually had an additional walkway and steps poured next to our new driveway and walls. The water service line had to moved and I wanted to run electric throughout retaining walls so I could install lights. Jared was actually very passionate and encouraging with all our different ideas. We plan on doing more concrete work with JKC and will definitely contact them in the near future. I would definitely recommend this company for any concrete projects. Professional and experienced contractors, A+ rating."

"Josh and the team did a really big job for us last week. They encapsulated our large crawl space, treated wood for mold, installed a sump pump, filled multiple cracks in our foundation, added two drainage systems to the exterior of our house and even cleared out the original drainage pipes in our retaining wall. It was a lot of work and I couldn't be happier that we decided to go with General Waterproofing. We had several quotes from other companies, some much more expensive, but Josh was the only one that actually discovered WHY we had water in our crawlspace and created a plan to tackle that problem. Going with the company that wasn't just putting a bandaid on the situation and was reasonably priced was no-brainer. Also, a number of the other companies were really aggressive and fear-mongered- I did not get that feeling from General Waterproofing at all. They were very upfront about the issues and did not try to upsell me on unnecessary systems or upgrades. The crew was polite"

Concrete Driveways questions, answered by experts

You should always power wash your driveway before applying a sealant. At any given time, your driveway could be covered with algae and moss, tire residue, oil and rust stains, and any combination of leaves, twigs, and dirt. If you skip power washing, you’ll be trapping the dirt and grime beneath the sealant and lowering its chance of cementing itself to your driveway. While you can expect the cost to pressure wash your driveway to average between $100 and $350, the few hundred dollars beats an unattractive driveway or paying extra to reapply your driveway sealer.

Experts typically recommend pressure washing your driveway at least once per year to keep it looking great while preventing stains, cracks, and unwanted vegetation. However, if your driveway gets a lot of use, you might want to pressure wash it more often to keep it looking like new.

The prevention steps are essentially the same, no matter the patio material. Keep the surface clean and maintained. Ensure there's no debris buildup, and cover the whole thing in a quality sealant. If it's the start of a season or it's been a while since you've cleaned the area, use a pressure washer.

Stamped concrete is durable and relatively easy to maintain. Regular maintenance includes sweeping away debris to keep it clean and prevent staining. It is also important to repair any cracks promptly to maintain its appearance and longevity. The concrete should be resealed every 2 to 4 years to protect the surface.

There’s no legal requirement that states that you need rebar in a concrete driveway, but since the slab will be supporting heavy vehicle loads, it’s always a good idea to pay a bit more for rebar reinforcement. Your driveway will be much more likely to crack if you don’t reinforce it with rebar. Driveways that need to support commercial vehicles or provide parking for multiple vehicles at once should always include rebar reinforcement. If you’re pouring concrete over asphalt or pouring concrete over an existing slab, you may not have enough depth for rebar, meaning an increased risk of cracking.
