"Greg was extremely professional, personable, and just an overall pleasure to work with. I enjoyed talking and getting to know him as much as I enjoyed his work (which was a lot!). I was in a little bit of a bind and needed my bathroom floor tiled quickly, and he bent over backwards to make it happen. He was great about following up, always kept the work space clean, and was always punctual. As an added bonus, he did all of the work for an incredibly fair price. Greg’s greatest attribute though is his meticulous attention to detail. There was an existing area around the tub, that he said wasn’t “wrong” and would still work fine, but it maybe wasn’t the best way. A little while later, he called me into the bathroom to show me that he just went ahead and redid it for me. He said it would drive him crazy knowing that something was just okay instead of being perfect. Since I’m a bit of a perfectionist myself, I’m glad that he was too! My floors turned out better than I could have ever imaged, and I highly recommend Greg for any of your tiling needs"

"Derby City Flooring crew did amazing job in my home! Installed new hardwood floors in living and bedrooms and LVP in my kitchen. They even repaired and stained my stairs! They were punctual and completed the job as they promised and didn’t leave any mess behind. Honored the estimate and did little bit more than they agreed to do. Really went above and beyond to make us happy with our new floors. Recommend this company for any kind of floor installation."

Floor Sanding questions, answered by experts

Land survey reports have a boatload of information relevant to several scenarios. Here are the types of information contained with a survey, though it depends on your chosen type of land survey. Exact boundaries and dimensions of a given property General topography, including both natural and artificial landmarks Location of utility fixtures, like water mains Confirmation of any easements or encroachments on a piece of property Assessment of land elevation to buy flood insurance Updated information to add to a pre-existing property map

There are a couple of ways you can determine the depth of your well. One method is to use a device called a well sounder. This tool has a long measuring tape containing a sensor to alert you once the end reaches the water.

Or you can DIY it by using a long tape measure with a half-filled bottle of water attached to it. Lower the tape measure into your well. Once you feel tension on the tape, you’ll know the bottle has reached your static water level. This will give you an approximate idea of your well’s depth.

If you’re planning to dig on your property, you’ll need to check for underground utility lines. Call the national call-before-you-dig 811 number. Once connected to an operator, you can schedule a site visit to mark underground lines. This way, you won’t accidentally dig into pipes and can cause major (read: costly) issues.

With proper training and experience, reading blueprints is fairly straightforward and not very difficult. If you don’t have the necessary knowledge to interpret the symbols, abbreviations, and other notations used, blueprints may not make sense. Learning to read blueprints can help you understand the construction process and keep you more involved and informed when you’re building a house.

Pros will assess your soil type, property geography, and rain patterns for optimal slope.
