"Two projects were completely fixed, the slow-flushing toilet was worked on (and got better), but the plumber admitted that we might need a new toilet."

"This company was extremely efficient from the secretary who answered the phone to the dispatch of a person named Jeremy the next morning who arrived on time as scheduled. I was requesting an estimate to replace my main water line because I had no water pressure. Jeremy quickly assessed my problem and suggested we bypass my 24 yr. old water softener. When we did that I had all the pressure I needed. A reasonable diagnosis fee was less than $3,000.00 to replace a water line. I would recommend this company to anyone."

"Emergency Drain Cleaning called shortly after I posted what I wanted. In a very short time he was here with everything he needed to fix my drain and it turned out that he needed it all ( including 2 Co2 cartridges ). I had been dealing with a clogged kitchen drain for about a week and Drano wasn't getting it. So when I saw the drain was full of water I got my plunger and REALLY started plunging and I heard a lot of plastic cracking and I knew what it was, my grandkids had put a small bottle of water in the drain that I keep for their trip home. Now I didn't have a choice but to pay for a professional. He ended up using everything he had brought ( including 2 Co2 cartridges ) the last snake did it. What a relief !!!"

Toilets questions, answered by experts

Yes, a bathroom remodel is a worthwhile home improvement project that typically adds value to your home, offering a return on investment (ROI) between 60% and 70%. Potential buyers look closely at bathrooms and kitchens, as these are often the most expensive rooms to renovate. A modern, updated bathroom is more appealing and assures buyers that the plumbing, fixtures, and flooring have a long, useful life ahead. Beyond the financial return, a remodel can also greatly increase your day-to-day satisfaction by creating a more inviting, spa-like space. Even a basic refresh with new paint and accessories can make a significant difference.

The toilet flange anchors to the subfloor, usually with wood screws or cement screws, but most of it should sit above floor level at full height. When a flange is flush with the subfloor or below it, it can lead to the creation of leak paths.

Even though they’re modern-looking, easier to clean, can be hung at any height, and help save space compared to traditional toilets, wall-hung toilets have some downsides. They’re more expensive than standard toilets, sometimes by a few hundred dollars. They’re also difficult to install and may require major plumbing work to reroute the drain if the previous toilet was a floor-mount model.

This tight fit can make repairs more difficult. You’ll also have to consider where you can hang them and weight limit restrictions, so they may not be the best fit for every home.

Many parts of your plumbing system can fail, but clogged drains are one of the biggest plumbing problems you’ll likely encounter. From your kitchen sink, bathroom sink, or bathtub, there are plenty of opportunities for gunk, hair, food scraps, and more to get stuck in drains. When this happens, water will slowly drain, leading to standing water, bad odors, drain flies, and other issues.

Many homeowners can handle a minor clog themselves, but if you have a clog in your main line, you’re best off hiring a local plumber to get the drain back to its normal flow rate.

To keep your toilet in good working order, replace the toilet fill valve every five years. Toilets get quite a workout, so while toilet maintenance may not be on top of your to-do list, it’s essential to keep up with it to ensure your toilet is in good working order and ready when needed.
