"They cleared our sewer line and found a problem, we scheduled a repair on 01/25/2017. Had to replace 1920 sewer line and found very large roots in the old pipe. Now we are set for a long time to come. They did a great job even with temperatures at 28 degrees."

"I just pay $75 you never know who's going to come out. They do everything electrical. Just about everything is covered except the septic tank. I had an air conditioner replaced. It went great, all I had to do was pay for the freon. He didn't charge e more than what was needed."

Septic Tanks questions, answered by experts

The best way to keep a septic tank clean is to hire a local septic tank cleaner to inspect and pump the septic tank every three to five years. Be sure to only flush human waste and toilet paper down the toilet, and don’t pour grease, oil, fats, coffee grounds, or food scraps into your drains.

Most septic tanks need to be emptied every 3 to 5 years, but it’s a good idea to monitor the fill levels of your septic tank all the time. You can do this by installing a pressure level sensor to detect the internal tank pressure, or by having a septic tank company perform an annual inspection to let you know when you’ll need to pump the tank.

A shallow-well pump can pull water up to 25 feet deep. A deep-well pump can pull water up to 90 feet deep. A deep-well submersible pump can pull water up to 300 feet deep. Make sure to consult a pro to find out how deep your well is and get the right pump for your needs.

The smallest septic system available for purchase typically includes a 750-gallon tank. However, the smallest size you can legally install is determined by local regulations, and many areas require a minimum capacity of 1,000 gallons. The cost to install a small septic system generally ranges from $2,910 to $13,900. Before proceeding, it is essential to check with your local health department or consult a local septic professional to confirm the minimum legal requirements in your area.

There should be a red button or an on/off switch on or in your box. Press the button or flip the switch, then turn it back on by doing the same action again. If this doesn’t work, reset the breakers inside the box by flipping them off and back on again. After this, your alarm should stay off if there’s nothing wrong with your system. However, if the alarm is still sounding and there’s still a red light on, it’s time to call a pro for a diagnosis.
