"The job was a bit expensive, but it's not a small house, though a neighbor is getting their house done by someone else for $1000 less. The house and trim look good, until you get really close. House color on trim edges that should be a different color. All over spray wasn't cleaned up well, no masking was done. Lots of paint on the driveway, in the grass and on the upper deck. Areas in the yard where brushes and equipment were cleaned, or where paint was spilled are now dead, I will have to reseed those areas when it gets cooler. For the most part we are satisfied, but attention to detail was lacking."

Whether you skim coat the entire wall or just a portion depends on the extent of the damage. If you only have small sections of gouges, a targeted skim coat will do the trick. For the most part, peel-and-stick wallpaper doesn't damage walls. However, there may be some cases when damage does occur. For example, if you try to rip the paper off the wall, you may pull away some paint at the same time.

The walls can also be damaged if they aren't prepared properly before you add the wallpaper. For example, if the coat of paint is too fresh when you put the wallpaper on the walls, it can peel away as you remove the paper.
