"Totally satisifed with the project. Discovered the same crew worked on a deck of a member of the church I attend. Talked to him, and he was also totally satisfied with his project. Although there were weather issues, we worked through that and the deck turned out more than expected. I have and will continue to recomend this contractor to anyone who is in search of a general contractor. I had a couple of small projects that need done other than this main one, and they accomidated me with no issues. Hard workers, cared about the finished project as much as I did. Thank you."

I have been doing remodeling for last ten years. I have experience with painting interior and exterior of houses. I have refinished kitchen cabinets. Recently just did backsplash in around 240 apartments. I've done ceilings, sheetrock, flooring and more. \n I am just starting my own business, and am specializing in accent walls in any room, accent stairs, fireplace, entertainment center, crown molding, kitchen cabinets, tile, and flooring, staining and sealing fences and decks. I have really cool ways to make your home look beautiful. \n I believe in good quality, and communication. I don't cut corners and treat clients home with respect. I serve Wichita and surrounding areas.

Cabinet Making questions, answered by experts

There’s no strict rule about which way cabinet doors should open, but generally, double cabinet doors should open away from each other. With single doors, you want to avoid having them block your path or swing into  areas where people need to stand. Some kitchens are angled so that cabinet doors may crash into something no matter which way they swing, but the methods above can help prevent damage.

Custom cabinets made from solid wood are the most durable, lasting 20 to 50 years with proper maintenance. In comparison, prefabricated cabinets have a lifespan nearly half as long. The longevity of any cabinet depends on factors like upkeep, the amount of heat and moisture in the home, and general wear and tear. Popular hardwood options for long-lasting cabinets include oak, cherry, maple, walnut, and hickory. While these materials are a worthwhile investment for those planning to stay in their home for decades, their durability comes at a higher price compared to alternatives like furniture board, laminate, and plywood. The average cost for solid wood cabinets ranges from $100 to $1,200 per linear foot.

Layout design, appliance upgrades, and material selections are crucial.

You can stack upper kitchen cabinets, but they may not fit neatly. Because upper kitchen cabinets are typically available in these standard sizes—12, 15, 18, 24, 30, 36, and 42 inches—you can stack various-sized upper cabinets. But, depending on your ceiling height, these standard sizes may not work together. That’s why smaller stacked cabinets are a much more stylish and economical choice.

For safety when installing a vanity, attaching the vanity to the wall is ideal to prevent it from moving. Typically, sinks must be 4 inches away from bathtubs. Also, most states require that you have 21 inches in front of a sink, but the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA) recommends 30 inches for more comfort.
