Minutes away from Indiana University, The Village at Muller Park® is the premier destination for students with a discerning taste in where they choose to live, study and play! Our professional on-site staff is focused on an amazing living experience, creating a perfect environment to allow you to focus on studying, interacting with your friends – or indulging in our best-in-class amenities. The Village at Muller Park® will ensure your college experience is the best Bloomington has to offer!

"If I could select a no-star rating I would. I have rented from several property management companies in Bloomington - Park on Morton, IU RPS, Choice Realty to name a few; I was raised by a property manager; and I would go out of my way to stop potential renters from doing any business on any level with this company - they are vultures. The day we moved in the unit was an absolute wreck. My roommate and I arrived on our move in date only to find that the apartment was disgusting; the entire place was covered in dust and grime, the fridge and freezer still had several rotten items from the previous tenants; the apartment smelt absolutely terrible which we soon discovered the carpet was the culprit. The entire carpet wreaked of pet urine and sour smells. Ironically, they left us a pamphlet on our counter remarking confidently that our place was perfectly ready and prepped for our arrival - ha! All of the furniture in the living room had white stains that even bleach could not remove. We covered the furniture to prevent The Village from deflecting the charges/liability on us for their apparent need for replacement furniture (we work until 7 most days and spend nearly all of our time in our rooms). You may be thinking "Why would they do that? Seems over cautious on their part.." During our first month we were charged for battery replacements for the fire detectors and they did not even replace them - yikes. Just this month I was charged $535 to replace the (incredibly cheap) furniture that, mind you, we covered initially and never use..... your initial move in inspection is weightless. Anyway, this was clearly not the best first impression for our move in day and unfortunately not the last terrible experience we have had living here. Every time it snows, our cars have been blockaded in by walls of ice, and the roads and walkways were mostly salted on the day of or even after snowfall.. effective! Every interaction with the employees, specifically management, has been accompanied with a condescending or downright rude attitude; this has been a friendly reminder for me that being nice truly is a low end virtue. I have came home several times to law enforcement investigating activities in this area. There was also a robbery right across from our apartment just this past month and another just a building over - security is necessary especially with this outlier location (from campus/downtown) and the Village offers none. I receive emails daily concerning their shuttles being 'down' or shuttle schedules changing - the cramped shuttles are virtually useless unless you're schedule is flexible enough to plan your entire day around last minute 'outages' and overall flimsy responsibility. The bottom line is that these people want your money and could not care less about your actual experience - do not let the oversold, overvalued amenities fool you. They are clearly used to taking advantage of college students whose parents foot the bill. We even caught them attempting to enter our apartment without notice and with a seriously rude attitude. As extensive as this review already is, I could continue, but my hopes are that you did not even finish this review before deciding entirely against The Village.. for your own sake."

"It was a very bad experience. The work took 16 months to complete. There was almost no communication. No answer to phone messages, emails or texts. Final invoice was much greater than original estimate. The additional work was completed without any communication to me ( the homeowner)."

Home Inspection questions, answered by experts

Regularly in areas prone to moisture or high traffic to catch issues early.

Living in a house with smoke damage could be safe on a temporary basis, but it depends on the severity and type of smoke damage. If you have major smoke damage or soot present from a fire, you should relocate to keep you and your family safe. Breathing in soot can cause respiratory issues, and it can contain carcinogens, so move out until you get professional remediation done. Your insurance company may cover the cost for alternative housing while your professional works.

You can determine if your ductwork needs rerouting by looking for common signs of issues. Uneven heating or cooling in different areas of your home, unusual noises from the ducts, and a noticeable increase in energy bills may all indicate problems with your duct system. Additionally, if you've recently renovated or there are structural changes in your home, it's a good idea to assess whether your current ductwork layout is still efficient.

Septic tank locations are sometimes public record, although it depends on local laws and the property age. Older properties may not have the septic tank information on public record. To check, you can talk to local permitting agencies, such as your local health department, the local environmental department, or the county clerk.

Technically, you can do a home inspection yourself. Still, it is not recommended unless you or someone you know has a background in the construction trades to be able to identify any issues. A certified home inspector is trained and has the experience necessary to make a thorough and trustworthy assessment of the condition of a home. If you need a home inspection when buying and selling a home, a professional home inspector is often required.
