"Norberto quoted $900 to remove and replace the section of the driveway on August 31, 2018. The day of the work he called to say the price (for the quoted work) was now $1,300!? I was surprised with the considerable estimate change. However, the driveway had other cracks so I asked if for the $1,300 would he agree to seal the cracks and fill in a 3”x3”x2” hole (chip out of the driveway) with concrete mix. Norberto agreed. The section of the driveway was completed that day. Norberto stated he would return to seal and fill the cracks that weekend September 1st or 2nd. I have called or texted Norberto Ochoa many times since then expecting the job would be finished. His last promise was to complete the seal and patch of the cracks on December 1st. Three months after the initial work. That date has now passed. Tired of making follow up calls after 3 months!!"

Surfaces like parking lots and driveways should be at least 6 inches thick to accommodate the weight of vehicles, while patios and walkways may be poured between 4 and 6 inches thick. There’s no standard for pervious concrete thickness, but in most cases, the more weight the surface will need to hold, the thicker it should be.

While you can technically pour concrete over grass, dirt, or an old piece of concrete, you risk threatening the concrete's stability.

Resurfacing a concrete slab can be worth it if the concrete is in decent condition and has minor cracks, chips, or discoloration. If the concrete is cracked, peeling, sunken, or broken up, then replacing your concrete is probably more cost-effective in the long run and will give you a better outcome. Resurfaced concrete is only as good as the concrete underneath the new overlay material. If the concrete is peeling or cracked, the peeling and cracks are likely to show through the new surface.

A concrete overlay should be 1/4 of an inch to 2 inches thick to form a strong layer on top of a base slab. The thickness depends on the condition of the existing concrete and the depth of your design and imprints. You should repair and clean the surface before applying a primer and a layer of fresh concrete.
