"Be prepared to pay a travel/diagnostic fee of $79 and change, plus $80/hour labor, plus parts PER MACHINE in your house. If you say your machine is making a grinding noise and clothes come out wet, they assume you know what is wrong with the machine and that you're saying that the machine isn't draining--as if you an expert who has diagnosed your own machine. If the repair person does a check on parts of the machine, diagnoses one issue (but not all issues) that is the cause of your machine's functioning, and if the repair person changes a part, but your machine isn't still fully working, you will pay extra hourly labor for another visit. Paying for parts is one thing, paying labor when the first diagnosis wasn't correct or full is another thing. Paying multiple travel fees to visit the same house is also strange, compounded by adding these costs to the hourly labor. Our machines were half fixed. We'll find a good community partner to service our machines in the future."

"If you are looking for stellar service in the area of residential mold remediation, look no further than AdvantaClean Midwest!  AdvantaClean.com My technicians (Jose Garcia & Kyle) are some of the hardest workers that I have seen in a long time. I had a very serious mold problem in the crawl space of my home. It was causing me to have severe headaches, runny eyes, and respiratory problems. Absolutely! Cleaning the interior of your dryer is crucial to maintain its efficiency and safety. As time goes by, lint, debris, and residues from dryer sheets tend to build up inside the drum, on the lint trap, and around the heating elements. Regular cleaning of the inside of the dryer prevents these particles from blocking the system, ensuring smooth airflow, and reducing the risk of fire hazards.

At a minimum, you should clean your dryer vent at least once a year. You may need to clean the dryer vent more often, such as every six months, if your dryer sees frequent or daily use. If you have young children or pets, you may need to clean the vent quarterly. 

There are a few signs that tell you it's time to clean your vent. If your clothes are very hot when they come out of the dryer or it's taking longer than usual for clothes to dry, the vents need cleaning.

Call 911 immediately. If you have a fire extinguisher or fire blanket near the laundry room, you can attempt to extinguish the fire, but don’t open or touch the dryer. If you can’t put the fire out, evacuate yourself, your family, and your pets from the house, closing the laundry room door behind you. Turn off the electricity to your home via the outside fuse box, then wait for the fire department. After a dryer fire, have your home’s electrical system inspected to make sure there isn’t any damage.

Dryer vents commonly need to be replaced every one to three years. This will depend on the rate at which you dry loads, how often you clean your vent, and what type of vent you have. For instance, regular care will prolong the life span of most options, while aluminum foil vents may need to be replaced more frequently with or without regular maintenance.

You’ll find the backdraft damper near the top of the range hood (where it connects to the ductwork). However, some range hoods also have a second damper, which is located close to the roof or exterior wall where the ductwork ends. If you don’t see a damper in either of these places, you might not have one.
